Cram For This Cycle or Wait For Next Cycle -- Oct. vs Dec.

3.95 UGPA with ~20 credits to graduation. AA Male. Plan was to take the June 2011 administration but had to delay prep. I took an internship this summer that kept me too busy to prep so still haven't really touched the Powerscore bibles.

In an ideal world, I always said I would know where I was going to law school by Thanksgiving and thus my plan was always to apply as early as possible in the cycle, but obviously this isn't quite possible anymore.

I'm truly the type that always plans things way ahead so landing myself in this situation is somewhat of an anomaly. I am beyond anxious not knowing what my LSAT is/where I can apply at this point.

Is it worth it to try to cram with the bibles so I have some score to base things off and apply this cycle, or wait and take an Oct. course (Testmasters based on local availability) for the December administration..and likely put things off until next cycle (applying Fall 2012)?

TLDR: Cram for October or wait for December/later and apply next cycle?

Thanks!

3.95 + AA Male = Please give yourself the time you need to do well on the LSAT so that you can HYS it to the bank

Take a preptest in realistic conditions. If you knock it out of the park, then take the real thing this cycle. If you don't score where you want to, take some more time and prep for next cycle.

How much time do you have to dedicate per day? I would say that if you can put in ~20 hours per week, as long as your practice test is in a reasonable range, I would take the chance on the October administration. That way, if you need, you can re-take in December and still apply this cycle. Of course, if waiting until next cycle really doesn't bother you, then more time is always good.

This is the credited response. Do NOT take a chance of a sub-par LSAT score and blow your chance at Yale.

Thanks for all the advice thus far.

I know the test companies often suggest not "crossing materials," but given that I have the bibles and the TestMasters course doesn't start until the day after the Oct. LSAT---should I hit the bibles in the mean time or just delay all prep until the course?
