I know I am yelling! I am not even a religious person. Pure sequencing has been HELL to say the least. I spent about 30 minutes working in the Manhattan book. I got 4 out of 5 right in 8 minutes. I have NEVER been able to finish a sequencing game in under 15 minutes and I was lucky to get half of them right.

when's the last time there was a pure sequencing game?

i think they almost entirely eliminated these and now its always a hybrid of sequencing and linearity or sequencing and grouping.

...which means you need to know the skills necessary to do a pure sequencing game in addition to grouping.

So good to hear. Logic games are killing me and I just ordered the Manhattan book. Prime shipping FTW. time to shut this shit down.

It was the sequencing part that was messing me up. A and B come before C, C comes after D but before Q etc.
I have also heard people really like their Grouping style as well which is the other thing that has been killing me.

I know how you feel. The difficulty of ordering games with Manhattan's method has been greatly reduced. I also think Manhattan's open assignment board, when used properly, is very powerful.

That is awesome.How much time did it take to finish the book?

Is it just me, or are Manhattan's methods significantly better than those in the Logic Games Bible? I've gone through Relative Ordering, Binary Grouping, and Open-Grouping and they all seem remarkably quick to work with and intuitive. The bible's equivalents seem both denser and less intuitive. I only used the bible to learn Linear and 3D linear and their methods are fine and, as far as I can tell, pretty similar to Manhattan's recommendations. But those are generally considered the easiest games. Manhattan has managed to turn the 3 types of games I mentioned into 4-7 minute affairs for me. That's a huge amount of time to bank on what might be, in a given section, the "hardest" game. So I have a question. I'm going to spend the next few weeks refining my techniques, doing games, etc. For those of you who have used both, what are the advantages of mastering the bible's methods on some of these types of games? Are they more adaptable than the Manhattan methods (i.e, more likely to work if you encounter an odd or hybrid game)? Are there any of them which you think are definitely superior to the Manhattan equivalent? Or is knowing them simply going to make me feel more comfortable by giving more options when encountering a new game? Keep in mind, I plan to go through all of the actual games in the bible, at least once and a few more than once (I've already done a ton of them, so I'm well on my way). I just want to know if, given that I have limited time, it's worth learning any or all of the bible's actual methods. I ask mainly because I'm down from -8 to -12 on games to -0 to -3 in a month, and my final hurdle seems to be achieving a high comfort level with a few types of games. Time isn't an issue, except when I can't quite diagram the game. So I'd be willing to master a LB method, even if it took longer than a Manhattan method, if it was significantly more adaptable.

I'm pretty tempted to try and get the Manhattan LG book down before October 1st. I'm hearing alot of good things, and I only found the LG bible somewhat helpful in conjunction with the lsatblog methods. Bit late now though

If you have already been through the bible and have been practicing a while, you can get through Manhattan very quickly. It probably took me 3 days to get through it.

I received my Manhattan games book a couple of days ago. I think it's more straightforward. I got through the first three chapters in a night, and I plan to spend a lot of time tomorrow getting through the rest of it. I find it much more accessible.

According to Amazon, the games book is 256 pages, while RC is only 176.

I'm trying to determine if it's worth it to buy the book 3 weeks before i take the test. (I also have used the Logic Games bible)

+1, I'm interested in this as well. The LG Bible was useful but alot of the methods didn't fully click with me.

I own all the Manhattan and Powerscore bibles, but I haven't fully read the Logic Games bible, wondering if I should finish it.

I think the Manhattan book is worth it for its explanation of grouping by itself. The sequencing help me immensly as well.

Hi thought I'd chime in.

After going through the LG bible, I was making some inferences, but still not getting my set up correctly. After going through the Manhattan LG, I refined my methods and ended getting my best LG section ever, a -2 when I had been taking 10+ minutes on games. To me, I just felt more relaxed and everything seemed to have come natural.

IMO the guide itself is a quick read (I got through LG Bible in about 4 days, Manhattan LG in about 1.5 days)

I still refer to both guides though to make sure that I have the techniques down and to check my though processes.

Is anyone aware of anywhere I can get the book retail, or is it pretty much online only?

Someone told me that they saw it at Barnes and Noble, so you could give them a call if they're in your area.

And to people wondering - when I read Manhattan's book, after finishing the sequencing chapter (chapter one) I thought to myself, "Even if I get nothing else out of this book, that just paid itself off right there." You can get through it in two to three days, and even less if you just do the chapters on types you are having issues with. Their methods are a lot more intuitive so it was a million times faster for me than the LGB. MLSAT LG kind of skips all the minutia of games and gets straight to the point, which is why it is great for those who have already done the LGB.
