@Olive, may I ask what your RC strategy is? I'm a bit worried about my RC performance. My RC keeps fluctuating from -2 to -5 and i'm so frustrated and pissed off :-(

Took Jun 09 today (PT 57, I think). -1 on LG, -4 LR1, -2 RC, -3 LR for a 171. Better than the last time I took it back in July which was a 165 or a 167, can't remember. I am SO frustrated by my LR scores since those are the only things that vary- sometimes I'll fly through a section and have time left over, other times I'm rushing up until the last minute. Hoping LSAT gods are merciful to me in December and give me either a nice curve or some not-awful LR sections.

Did anyone else think that curve was brutal for this PT? Geez.

Hey, how are all my December 2011 LSAT kin doing???

How is everyone coping with the stress, the anticipation, the anxiety, and the excitement?

I have been going through some massive emotional and attitudinal change; now, I cannot wait for the 3rd! How about you all?

You do still have the option of withdrawing! You can withdraw and it won't show up on your record or anything that you had scheduled for December.

Hey 180! Definitely feeling nervous/anxious. I took off most of yesterday and ALL of today from studying in order to rest my mind and I'm hoping to pick up some gains this week. I've been doing a lot of drills because my timing on LR/RC was still bad so I am hoping to see a little improvement this week with a fresh mind and lots of practice!

Just think, two weeks from now at this time, no more LSAT! HOPEFULLY! :)

I'm using the Manhattan LSAT strategy. I recommend their book; I think it's helped me a lot, especially with identifying the sides of each argument and the purpose of the passage.

I'm still working on getting RC down, however! I notice I reread answer choices a lot. Anyone have tips on this?

Slow down. While reading the first time, immediately cross off something that makes the answer choice in correct(e.g distortion).

Then the next time you have to read through them, you will have less choices to read.

All aboard the baller train. Choooooo Choooooooooo

PT 59
LR1: -4
LR2: 0
LG: 0
RC: -3

For 94 raw = 176. December curves FTW.

In fairness I have taken this test once before, in the official Dec 09 sitting, but the only question I remembered was the bankers-lawyers-athletes (which I missed on the original test, and again on this one FML after all the work I put in on formal logic) because when I saw my 164 I didn't even feel like reviewing, much less applying to law schools. Back then I went -7, -5, -2, -7 respectively. I have exorcised my demons.

Thanks. What's your process when you have narrowed down the choices to two?

Make sure you're fact checking with the passage. I'm sure you've realized that the stim and/or the ACs will have context clues that refer back to specific parts in the passage. The key is to recognize exactly what area of the passage they're talking about and prove or disprove the ACs you have remaining based on details in them. That's kind of general, I know, but it seems like that's the basic ability that really makes or breaks my RC sections. If I move on without proving the choices in some way I'm much more likely to make a mistake. Sometimes you don't necessarily need to refer back if you have a strong understanding of the passage, but often the details are too nuanced, so locating that info quickly is key.

Oh WOW! I just drilled PT33's logic games. Finished in 33 minutes and got a -1 (because of a dumb error on the first game, forgot S couldn't be 7th). People say PT33 has some of the hardest games out there so needless to say I'm having a good day.

I think I'm finally starting to see the improvement I need. :)

Took 51 today

-18 for a 165

LR -14 (ouch)
RC -4
LG -0

first perfect games section ever!

LR hurt me, i fell for some obvious traps and didn't get to some easy parallel questions because they were weighty.

For my experimentals, I'm doing an extra LR section to improve my endurance and work on my LR skills. It was one of the sections from PT 19 and I scored the best ever on an LR, -2! One of the few times I wish my LR section counted ha ha.

seeing that though made me realize I shouldn't settle for these LR scores - gotta keep pushing!

Good work everyone else!

If anyone is interested, a few of us are doing a review of PT 60 this Sunday night at 6pm! (Moved it up early so we can get our sleep cycle in check before the BIG DAY!) Feel free to come and bring questions you want to discuss, or just come by and listen if you don't have any questions! The more the merrier :)

I found you guys late in the game BUT I am struggling with the LR the most. I am using McGraw hill to study? bad idea?

If anyone has links to free LSAT reasoning sections, please forward them my way.

I am also attending the session on sunday at 6!

Good luck, everyone! Study hard, but take enough breaks so you don't burn out.

Another day, another 176. Peaking at the right time. Should provide for a stress free turkeyday, thank god. Didn't think I would be able to enjoy it.

I'm getting more and more nervous about test day nerves. I have a fear that after all of the sections and practice that I've done it comes down to these four sections and that pressure is making me lose my concentration. I know that "knowledge kills fear" etc., but I still can't help feeling there's a distinct possibility that fear could win on one section if something starts to go wrong.

What routine do you all have when something starts to go wrong in a section to get yourself back on track mentally?
