@Olive, may I ask what your RC strategy is? I'm a bit worried about my RC performance. My RC keeps fluctuating from -2 to -5 and i'm so frustrated and pissed off

You do still have the option of withdrawing! You can withdraw and it won't show up on your record or anything that you had scheduled for December.JDndMSW wrote:Soooo i had decided to not apply to LS and try and get a refund for my Dec test... apparently I failed at sending a fax... so now I am thinking I will sit in for the retake in Dec...
Hey 180! Definitely feeling nervous/anxious. I took off most of yesterday and ALL of today from studying in order to rest my mind and I'm hoping to pick up some gains this week. I've been doing a lot of drills because my timing on LR/RC was still bad so I am hoping to see a little improvement this week with a fresh mind and lots of practice!180asBreath wrote:Hey, how are all my December 2011 LSAT kin doing???
How is everyone coping with the stress, the anticipation, the anxiety, and the excitement?
I have been going through some massive emotional and attitudinal change; now, I cannot wait for the 3rd! How about you all?

Just think, two weeks from now at this time, no more LSAT! HOPEFULLY!
I'm using the Manhattan LSAT strategy. I recommend their book; I think it's helped me a lot, especially with identifying the sides of each argument and the purpose of the passage.blackeyeliner wrote:@Olive, may I ask what your RC strategy is? Slow down. While reading the first time, immediately cross off something that makes the answer choice in correct(e.g distortion).Olive wrote:I'm using the Manhattan LSAT strategy. I'm still working on getting RC down, however! I notice I reread answer choices a lot. Anyone have tips on this?
Thanks. What's your process when you have narrowed down the choices to two?the_pakalypse wrote:Slow down. Then the next time you have to read through them, you will have less choices to read.
Make sure you're fact checking with the passage. I'm sure you've realized that the stim and/or the ACs will have context clues that refer back to specific parts in the passage. The key is to recognize exactly what area of the passage they're talking about and prove or disprove the ACs you have remaining based on details in them. That's kind of general, I know, but it seems like that's the basic ability that really makes or breaks my RC sections. If I move on without proving the choices in some way I'm much more likely to make a mistake. Sometimes you don't necessarily need to refer back if you have a strong understanding of the passage, but often the details are too nuanced, so locating that info quickly is key.Olive wrote:

Feel free to come and bring questions you want to discuss, or just come by and listen if you don't have any questions! The more the merrier

Good luck, everyone! Study hard, but take enough breaks so you don't burn out.Olive wrote:Location of the newest LSAT exams as PDFs:
