Just to get an idea: who all is thinking of joining the study group Manhattan LSAT set up for us now or sometime in the future before the test?

What times work best for everyone?

I'm in the central time zone, and basically any weekday after 6PM my time works best for me. My weekend availability tends to depend on whether or not I am traveling that weekend, but I'm sure that will change as we get closer to the test day.

Great. I'm central time as well. After 5pm works for me just about any day of the week.

How does everyone feel about meeting twice a week? Once for skill review/work and another time for PT review. For example, Tuesday nights skill/drilling and Thursday nights PT review. An option is starting the PT review later as more people are on the same page leading up to the test.

Count me in! I look forward to both learning from and helping everyone.

Studying for me starts September 1st, and I am current enjoying my layover year job of coaching college football.

So glad I found this post! Just decided after studying for 3weeks and missing quite a number of questions in a practice test that taking the test in October would not get me into a T5 school! Been studying with the Kaplan LSAT prep book, because all my LSAT material is still in the mail (i'm in South Africa). Any tips on how to make the Kaplan book more useful...and less annoying? :)

Glad to see this group started up. Be sure to reap the OP and e-mail me if you're going to be using the room so I can get you on the list and get you access to everything.

Common joke on these forums. Saying T5 excludes one of CCN, though I thought Chicago was ranked 6th rather than NYU.

Oh :) thanks for clearing that up. aand I think it depends on the rankings you're looking at, there's usually a star * next to the Chicago or NYU ranking. In my heart NYU is 5th

PT 40:
LR: -3
RC: -1
LG: -1
Scaled: 176

The cities logic game threw me off quite a bit - my diagram strategy was pretty abysmal. That being said, I'm happy with my progress. Been studying forever(on and offish since late April) so I'm glad I'm getting more consistent.

June 2007

LG: -1 (10)
LR: -2 (8, 25)
LR: -2 (10, 18)
RC: -4 (3, 10, 15, 25)

91/169

Taking some advice from the Dave Hall thread: How you practice will become how you test.

I am going to be more diligent about how I PT, making sure I'm practicing mentally conditioning myself for test day with each PT. I didn't do this two years ago when I took it, and I know it was a mistake.

I feel better a little bit better about logic games. Going back and refining my diagramming technique seemed to have helped a bit. I d the newer RCs harder. Not all the passages are more difficult necessarily, but the wording of the questions and answers seems more tricky.

Joining you guys, just started studying again yesterday night. Won't be taking preptest for at least a month. If some of you guys are getting 165+ already, why not just take in October?

165 would not be nearly what I need with my gpa. Also, my first take was 6 or 7 points below my PT average so I want to be PTing as high as I possibly can to account for that.

Took the LSAT a few years ago but didn't really prepare. Was too immature for it at the time, I think. So, here I am again. Started studying in July, using the bibles. Not bad so far but I kinda fell off the wagon this past week and a half thanks to overtime at work, but now that that's over I can focus on the test entirely. Here we go again

Just did another LR section and I realize that my problems arise at the end of the section. I lose focus. I miss about 1 or 2 in the first ~18 questions but after that it all goes to hell. I'm trying to find a way to increase my stamina.

IMO the questions also get harder as one moves past the first 18. Stamina is definitely a factor, too, but I think getting past the first 10 carefully but quickly (I try to get the first 10 questions in 10-12 minutes or less but it depends on the test, sometimes there are tricky questions towards the front of the test too) and leaving more time for the questions around 18 to the end has me helped me.

I'm also a retaker (from two years ago). Good luck studying again!

PT 29, section 3, the mannequin game. I don't even know where to start. I did search the forums but haven't gotten much luck. I intend to spend my entire lunch hour tomorrow figuring this out.
