Books to help prepare for the LSAT

Does anyone know of a good book or two to read in your freetime before taking the LSAT? I've heard of books that contain lots of logical reasoning that will help prepare the mind for the type of thinking required to do well on this test, but I do not know the titles. Thanks

Forget logic books. Try books with LSAT in the title.

What, you think reading sherlock holmes is going to turn you into a logical reasoning master? lol. It doesn't work like that. Read the bibles. Do and review the PTs. It's that simple. There are no shortcuts.

+1, or his new book that just came out The Pale King. The 1000+ page word count will get your mind off the LSAT until next year.

You clearly misunderstood me. I'm talking about reading for entertainment to accompany all other forms of preparation such as the bibles, practice tests, etc.

And thanks, I'll check out infinite jest. Any other ideas?

I don't see how I misunderstood you. You wanted to know what books will help your logical reasoning skills. I said, other than the regular prep materials, there are none (especially any entertaining ones).

If you're studying pretty intensely, I would recommend reading a novel in your free time, not LSAT material.

Read "Dianetics". It will rock your world! And its focused on mental health. You definitely want to get your thetan level up before you take the lsat, but everyone on here already knows that.

I read about a novel a week right now, but when I'm studying intensely, I don't read at all. Get tipsy, watch a bad action movie, fap, and go to sleep. That's how I relieve stress/turn my brain off.

In all fairness, the "to help prepare for the LSAT" in the thread title doesn't make it sound like you're seeking entertainment. Honestly, if you're not reading an LSAT book, I'd find the dumbest crap you can find to escape from LSAT prep. Dude Where's My Car? The Graphic Novel, or something.

But if you want non-LSAT logical stuff, perhaps some Lewis Caroll would be fun.

If you're looking for fiction books in addition to your study material that will help develop your logical reasoning abilities then I can't really think of any, nor do I think such a thing would be helpful at all. Actually, maybe some Borges.

If you're looking for non-fiction books then that's easy, pretty much any standard philosophy textbook (contemporary analytic philosophy) will do wonders for your logical reasoning. As would a freshman level physics textbook.
