Could a 'hand recount' = a lowered score?

Postby justbubbles » Mon Jun 27, 2011 6:42 pm

Say for instance if I appeal a 169 asking for a hand-recount.

Is it worth to take my chances and ask for a hand count?

What if that lowers the score from a 169?

Could that happen?

Can't you see the actual copy of your test and the answers? Based on that, you should know exactly what you would get with a hand recount.

Without any definitive knowledge on the subject, I would say -- obviously.

Yes, because you're having a hand score, not a "we're only going to give you a better score if we find a mistake" service.

They should offer that service though.

Do your own handcount. They give you a pdf of your scanned answer sheet. If any of the black circles are way off and you think something should be recounted, by all means ask for a recount. If all the circles look ok and you get the same score they gave you, it's pointless.
