I always heard that the "curve" was preset, but that doesn't explain why Dec. statistically has the most generous curve. The fact that a lot of dec. takers seems to be re-takes would?

but i don't understand. if the tests have sort of been determined through previous experimental questions, then why is there an apparent difference between the june/sept-oct/december tests?

does this have to do with the difficulty level, etc? sorry if this is something that should take very basic understanding; i just want to fully understand.

in general, i'm now asking: why is there a discrepancy in a 175 from one test to another, etc?

The generosity of the curve has to do with the difficulty of the test, not the pool of test takers. The whole point of equating is that it eliminates variations in the test taker pool when comparing scores from separate administrations. For whatever reason, LSAC tends to give easier or harder tests for certain months' administrations. I assume it's so that people can pick the one they feel favors them, but no one besides LSAC knows for sure.

So does anyone have an accurate guess as to what they think the curve will be for this exam, based on the difficulty? I took it in december and guessed -14, and was right. I'm not so sure about this one though. I'm thinking -10, -12 if we are lucky? thoughts?
