Please stop stressing about this.

You can get the picture taken while at the mall, at a CVS, and in plenty of other places people go every day while running errands. Once you look for and find a photo booth type of thing or service you can get it done in the time it takes to make it through the checkout line at a grocery store.

Identification. All candidates must have one current, valid (not expired) government-issued ID containing a recent and recognizable photo and your signature.

In addition, all candidates must attach to their ticket a recent photograph (taken within the last six months) showing only the face and shoulders. The photograph must be clear enough so there is no doubt about the test taker's identity, and must be no larger than 2 x 2 inches (5 x 5 cm) and no smaller than 1 x 1 inch (3 x 3 cm). Your face in the photo must show you as you look on the day of the test (for example, with or without a beard). The photograph will be retained by LSAC only as long as needed to assure the authenticity of test scores and to protect the integrity of the testing process.

Alright, to get to the overarching theme of this, they're essentially trying to prevent cheating/plagiarism. My question is, as a cheater and someone who regularly thinks about ways to cheat on everything but has excluded the LSAT from that thinking because LSAT has precautions, is how does this prevent cheating anymore than 2 different handwriting samples at the beginning and the end of the test?

To me, this was always the damn near foolproof approach. They have your sworn statement, combined with your writing sample, of theoretically your own handwriting. That's nearly foolproof, in that you'll be hard to find someone who can mimic your writing AND score well on the LSAT, regardless of anything else. Yes, I see that there are still POSSIBLE (albeit neearly impossible) ways of cheating and getting away with it. But this just seems excessive .

The legal profession doesn't need message board arbiters of what the legal profession does and doesn't need.

Your statement speaks volumes about your mindset, especially as it relates to honesty and your attitude about it. Good Luck with that.

So your defense of a guy that outright confessed to being a habitual/pathological dishonest cheater is an old cheesy Jim Carrey movie that is pure fiction?

Not really defending him, I really don't give a shit. Just pointing out that you need relax a little bit and get off your high horse, its an online forum--Nothing anybody says should be taken for face value. If I said I was the reincarnate of Adolph Hitler, I bet I could troll a response from you.

Total exaggeration of what he actually said LOL

A) It's not cheesy

AND

B) IT IS NOT PURE FICTION!

Lawyers in America don't exactly have the reputation of being saints. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Passport type photograph required.

It costs less than $10 and takes less than 10 minutes total -walk out with pics in hand- at most places.

I went to a CVS today with a friend. To kill time while she shopped I went and had it done to test how long it would take. Eight (8) minutes total turnaround and I had my mug shot pics in hand. Friend was still cruising the aisles looking for stuff when I was done at the photo center.

Take a pic of your head and shoulders, resize to 2" x 2", save to thumbdrive, take thumbdrive to Walgreens, get print for $0.89 plus tax.

Or pay a little bit and use the photo booth in the mall. Just don't get balloons and pink glittery letters spelling out "Princess" superimposed over it.

Ok honestly it's an issue of hard to get--- it's just a pain in the ass and also I dont want LSAC to keep a picture of me in their database.

Also, I DID get a response back from them:

"Thank you for your inquiry to LSAC:

The photo is a new policy.

You can print a photo from the computer as long as it is on photo paper."

A

would work. Duct tape might make the photo and other stuff hard to see!
