LSAT Proctor DVD/MP3/App
I've heard a lot of people praising the use of this supposedly invaluable tool. However, it seems that purchasing it at its exorbitant price is the only method of procuring the tool. Being the frugal man that I am, I was wondering how feasible it would be for us to create our own! Frankly, I think that it would be very easy to duplicate the effect. It surely does not require a well-seasoned thespian to shout out "5 minutes left!" or cough surreptitiously in the background.
In fact, I was considering taking this idea further! We could harvest the sound bites of coughs and pages turning at different distances and angles (from an omni-directional microphone) and maybe even incorporate the gentle hums of HVAC systems used in the test centres (we'll have to look up the manufacturers, no doubt, to maximize verisimilitude). Taking all of this, we could create an app that can compile custom MP3s or simply broadcast the noises of a testing environment. It would not only be useful for the LSAT, but for other standardized tests (GREs/MCATs/etc.) as well!

Oh thanks, I guess I just got excited (since I'm a programmer and engineer).

There's a free online one in our LSAT resources page. No coughs, but good enough for most purposes.
