Re: Feb 2011 LSAT afterparty thread
I had LG LR RC LG LR....
I gotta say, that reading comp definitely threw me off...I got out of my seat and ate my snack in a corner during the break
=(
Guessed on the last passage, but destroyed the LR's and held my own on the games.
And for the record, trip 2 all the way. =]
Now excuse me while I get some Aleve for this hangover

Sunday's [2/13/2011] crossword puzzle. 35 across. Coincidence? Or did the crossword writer just finish taking the test?

Really was the most straightforward writing sample of the ones I've seen. Even more clear cut than October, which I thought was strangely clear cut. I wrote what I think are 3 acceptable paragraphs in ~6 minutes and then put my head down and tried to pinpoint my score and experimental section. Everyone else in the room wrote til time was called and then started shaking out their writing cramps as one lol.

Agreed. It was too straightforward; not enough nuance to really flesh much out. I chose trip 2, made four points as to why, and was done.Kabuo wrote:Really was the most straightforward writing sample of the ones I've seen. About the LR sections (I didn't have an LR experimental): I felt there were up to 5 questions on each section that were head-scratchers, and it's still bugging me because my score could fluctuate so wildly depending on whether I guessed well.
Only almost-three weeks to wait....

writing prompt was dull, but yes, very straight forward. chose the 2nd one as well, with support reasons....

You all are really discussing the writing section? The only reason they include that section is so everyone will sit there and shut up while they count the pages in test booklets and check the certifications.

The people at my test center didn't do that till we were done with the writing section. How efficient huh?JazzOne wrote:You all are really discussing the writing section? So much for my theory. They took care of that during the writing section when I took the test.

EDIT: I figured it out. Took it in Korea on the day scheduled after the one in the U.S. takes place. Forgive the idiocy. This is my first time taking the exam and, when people were so sure about there being snowplows, I couldn't help panicking.

Whoa what? When and where did you take the test?strawberrygrl87 wrote:Guys, I'm kind of panicked. I had three LR sections, meaning my Logic Games section must have been the real deal. Yet, snow plows, etc. that all of you say were on the real section don't seem to come to mind. The only game I seem to remember is one involving classes taking place on two floors, which is not included in the list of games that were apparently in the graded LG. Now, if I had an experimental LG or didn't remember anything of my LG section, this would all be explainable, but since this is not the case...
Edit: Word fail.

maybe they make you do the writing section so it erases your memory while arguing for peak #2 or peak #1

Did you by chance take the test not in the US or not on the same day as the rest of us?strawberrygrl87 wrote:Guys, I'm kind of panicked. you mean, trip #1 or trip #2. haha. I hated having to mention that a million times in the essay. Just give the trips names, damn!

In total agreement. After saying writing down some points as to how trip #2 is preferable to #1, I found I'd had amnesia. Can't remember much of anything about what I did during those 5 hours.maybe they make you do the writing section so it erases your memory while arguing for peak #2 or peak #1

After so many practice tests and other practice questions I can't remember what was on the actual test...it is all meshing together...

How was this LSAT? I took Oct and Dec so its weird to not know what was on it.
Were the games full of lengthy hypos again(if you are allowed to say that, my memory on the rules is fuzzy)

I didn't think the games were anywhere near as bad as Dec. Although I lot of people seemed to think at least one of them was pretty time consuming...but after the no space, stained glass, conferences fiasco I was pretty much dancing on my desk

i dont remember if there were a lot of hypos specifically, but there were a lot of questions where i had to eliminate all the other choices to get to (what i hope was) the right one.

Can't believe I'm already psyching myself out and thinking about this, but I did a decent amount of erasing on the Scantron. I transferred a a few questions over incorrectly (again! idiot!). Since February is undisclosed, is paying to have the LSAC hand-score my test the only way I can be sure that the Scantron machine didn't read it wrong?

I erased like a madman and the machine analyzed my answer sheet like it was nothing. I wouldn't worry about it too much.kmichlew wrote:Can't believe I'm already psyching myself out and thinking about this, but I did a decent amount of erasing on the Scantron.
