Hello, in desperate need of advice..!!

I have to choose a test center for June among Brooklyn college, Queens college, and CUNY law.

Does anyone have a suggestion? I heard some negative reviews on Brooklyn and Queens but nothing on CUNY law.

The only thing that I truly concern is to have an individual desk- size doesn't really matter.

I have to decide by tomorrow night. Please provide some advice.

why do you have to choose by tomorrow the test is in june

First spots taken quickly (fordham, nyu, pace are all gone) and second I'm changing my date from feb to june and tomorrow is pretty much the last day to do so.

I don't know about Brooklyn, but CUNY has a good testing center. The desks are large and its pretty quiet. The only thing a bit problematic is that if your name is in the beginning of the alphabet, you are in a huge room. That just means it takes a while to get started. If your name is nearer to the end you will be in a small room tho, and its great.

if you can, go visit the testing centers, and see for yourself. IF you cant, go for the one thats closest to your home/apartment. You dont want to have to travel hours on test day. Choose the test center that is the closest, and easiest to get to. Remember, you cant bring your cellphone into the test center, so you will want to make sure you have a backup plan in case things go wrong on the way to or from the test.

it's always better to follow the rules. you never know!

No you won't get a separate desk. They are long tables and you will be sitting next to someone else, but you don't really need/want a separate desk.

And yes, CUNY Law.

No you won't get a separate desk. They are long tables and you will be sitting next to someone else, but you don't really need/want a separate desk.

And yes, CUNY Law.

Cause I've taken the December 2009 test at columbia law when I was still in college, and those long desks were terrible. The room was packed w/ ppl (about 80 in a medium sized lecture room) and we were sitting basically like the way you sit on the subway. Was CUNY like that too?

CUNY is in fact the closest one.

Can't speak for the others, but I had CUNY Law and it was great! I was in the big room that was mentioned earlier, and the proctoring was rather slow (and one of them was kind of a bitch), but the huge desks, great lighting, etc totally made up for it. And I managed to raise my score 6 points from my previous administration at Seton Hall (which had terrible itty bitty desks), so... yay!

Although, on a side note, if anyone happens to know why half of CUNY Law appears to be a kindergarten or pre-school or something (finger paintings and little kid stuff everywhere), I'd be very interested.

Btw, in response to earlier questions, the "big room" is set up sort of auditorium style, but in a good way. I actually really liked the long table thing - there was a seat or two in between each test-taker, so there was plenty of room to spread out.

Yeah, overall the long tables were fine (and many people, including myself, had a table to themselves). The only real negative may have been the texture of the tables - they were not designed with writing in mind.

Not sure what you mean by sitting the way you do on the subway. There are long desks, but everyone has their own separate chair. And while you may not like that setup, it is infinitely better than the tiny desks that won't fit all of your work.

Its not half of CUNY, its a small part of it that is like that, and it is because CUNY runs a childcare program for kids of professors and students.

Thanks for this. I had a horrible time at Queens College last time I took it and decided to go with CUNY Law this time around. Glad to hear I likely made the right choice.
