I'm in. Received my absolutely dreadful score from Dec 2010 yesterday -- it was 6 points lower than my cold diagnostic PT! I sobbed my eyes out yesterday but moving forward and decided to apply next cycle.

I studied for two and a half months prior to the exam but I think my problem was not simulating timed full length tests. How will the 12pm start time affect people's prep?

It will not affect my prep at all. I am full throttle on interstate 180 now!

Ouch. That's a very rough schedule. I work full time as well but I am not a current student, thus allowing me to study when not at work. When will you be completing school? Perhaps holding off to study then if you really have zero to no time at this point?

Yea I normally work 50 hours a week, but 2 days a week I have to leave early for class. I can't hold off because I want to apply for law school THIS year and I'm graduating THIS year.

One more addition even after I graduate I'm going to be taking paralegal classes to get a certificate. I don't like my mind being idle for a long period of time. So regardless I won't have 100% focus on the LSAT. I'm not the only one in this situation UGH I just have to FOCUS. LOL

I'm not letting the start time change my prep, although I am still working on a schedule for day of (eating schedule mostly).

So tonight I was bored (just started working/living in a college town so everyone was gone for break) and thought I'd go to the coffee house and start rereading the bibles. The one I went to closed at 9! Oh well, I'll just put it off until February lol.

Almost the exact same situation as you - I scored 6 points below diagnostic. I just had a miserable time that day - started off with a RC passage on my Achilles' heel subject, science. The brutal LG finished me off. I spent the last couple of days crying and wallowing at having to wait another year, but I'm ready to bust this test's ass for June. The 12pm start time won't affect me at all - in fact, I'd rather not have it at the buttcrack of morn.

Like you, I think my problem was not simulating enough timed tests. I studied for 2 months and spent a good portion of it doing sections untimed and worrying about technique. This time I won't make that mistake. I also feel ridiculously lucky because this time around, the test center will be like 50 feet from my house.

I'm in for June. I don't know whether I'm going to do the same center or if I'm going to shoot the dice with another. I scored one point under my cold diag., and a full ten points under my best PT. LG is where I died hardest in Dec., so I'm trying something experimental for a little bit...

I picked a textbook off my shelf a week or so after Dec., Mathematical Methods in Linguistics. The first several chapters give an overview of set theory, and I just got into chapters on predicate logic. My first real coverage of this sort of material in over 5 years. I tried looking over a few LGs to see if I could directly apply the set theory stuff, and no luck thus far. Most of the stuff that applies is the sort of stuff you aren't likely to forget. Then again maybe I need to look at it again after some sleep. Or after going through the predicate logic chapters. The book gets into Turing machines and context-free grammars even later. I don't think those are going to be particularly useful for LGs.

I've also got to get my RC consistency, speed and confidence up. Especially on the art/literature-type passages. The others are pretty easy for me most times. And as long as I'm on it, I guess I should get my LR consistency up.

I just registered for the June LSAT last night (because somehow losing that $140 means I have to get serious) and started hitting the books today. I'm using the LG and LR bibles and starting with LGs because I figure trial by fire is the way to go. I also already have the first book of PTs but plan to order the rest this week so that I have them all.

What are you guys using for RC prep? I really don't hear much about the RC bible.

Studying today for a few hours. I took a Powerscore course for the December Test, and am reviewing all the recordings from the virtual class. It was really helpful, but I feel like it's sinking in even more the 2nd time. I am keeping a log of every question I miss, and writing out explanations for the right answer as well as why the wrong answers are wrong. After I get through the course material I will re-work all the problems I missed, and then start doing sections untimed, keeping a log of everything I get right and everything I get wrong. By the end of it I plan on reworking everything I got wrong, then doing timed practice tests with extra sections worked in if I find myself struggling in a particular area. I want a score in the high 170's.

BTW I just ordered the Atlas Reading Comprehension Study Guide. I hear it is superior to Powerscore RC Bible. There is one more available on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Reading-Com ... 0984054928

It's the cheapest place I could find it. All the other places sell it for $40 or 50.

Hi everyone. I hope this is an okay place to be posting this, please forgive me if it's not (and let me know where to put it!). I was planning on retaking the LSAT in Feb., bought all new books and then decided not to retake for a variety of reasons. Please PM if you're interested and I will provide all details/pics/etc.

I have found an Achilles heel today. Multi-stacked Linear Games. They are kicking my ass. I'll be concentrating on this for the next few days at least.

I started studying for LSAT at the end of October, 2010, through Powerscore, took the Dec. LSAT and score poorly (143). I guess my 32hr/week work schedule prevented me in giving my full power to this exam.

I am taking courses towards completing my degree and still going to my job, but thinking of starting now in improving my reading skills, which may help in RC. I am thinking of taking at least a month off from work and school in order to perform the June, 2011 exam.

Any suggestions/tips on what to do for the next few months when I am not totally focusing on the LSAT?

I am using the RC bible. I am about halfway through it right now and also bought the atlas book that someone in this group recommended. I like the RC bible, I'm still missing about a question each passage but I'm hoping working through the rest of the book will help fix all the stupid errors I keep making.

I was a little overwhelmed with all of the guides so I have basically settled on Pithy Pike's strategy (the one that is stickied at the top of this forum, for those who dont know). I notice nobody has mentioned that yet, am I missing something?
