what for? 32-33 mins is a sufficient goal. 25 is a bit "nazi"

not at all. Instead, concentrate on PTs in the 30s, 40s, 50s (and now 60s, i guess). use the 90s tests as experimental sections if needed.

Hey all, random question about what you thinks works best for you. I am just really delving into studying in the last few weeks or so and have focused on LG. Are you all studying LG, LR, and RC at the same time or are you plugging through one section at a time? I tried switching to LR today and it took awhile to switch gears, sadly enough. Was just curious what you were all doing to get the most out of your studying.

I don't know about everyone else, but this month I'm working on one section at a time. It's just easier for me to grasp it all that way. Next month, however, I'll hopefully be incorporating all three sections.

Hi all, have room for 1 more June test taker? I'm retaking after a dismal 158 back in October.

I'm hoping 4 months will suffice. I did testmasters the first time, but didn't take nearly enough PTS. I was just curious as to what publications everyone is using? Is buying everything detailed in Pithypikes thread enough?

Go to LSATBlog for a good study guide. Use Pithypike as a holistic approach to firm up your approach with each skill set.

Was just curious what you were all doing to get the most out of your studying.

I did the same thing. Really went after 4-5 games a day with review and then worked on organizing problem games for redo. When I went back to LR after a week or so, it felt different. Now I am keeping to 3 new games a day including 2 redo's and staying up with 10-20 LR questions untimed a day with review. When I feel like I'm doing good, I take an hour break or so and hit RC for about 90 minutes. I do 2 timed sections review and do 2 more timed sections. This way I try and focus on my timing and see if I go off on accuracy. Then PT, review, rinse, repeat. It's a never ending process. I feel like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day.

The games from the earlier PT are way different in my opinion. While they are worth doing, mastering the more recent ones is more important.

Same here, I'm 1/2 done with the LRB. I just started to add Atlas' RC book in to the mix and great tips from a post on TLS.

Which PTs have you been using? By the way, I want to take PTs by the section 1st, then add Full PTs.
I want to do at least 8 PTs (with 5 sections) the month before the test.

P.S. I'm taking a prep course, which includes 6 full PTs with the company.

I know a part of the group is doing the Manhattan LSAT self-prep, which has its own syllabus. Looking at it, they kind of take a basics of all sections---> more specific of all sections as weeks go by (sorta like pithypike.) They have homework based on the MLSAT books they purchased. As for everyone else, I don't think there is a specific plan laid out for us. I know I want to revisit LG, and right now I'm just diving into the RC book I bought. After that I'll be reviewing LR (while constantly doing practice LGs & RC technique reading.) I don't really wanna go into PTs until March.

like we need to kick our own ass to start studying NOW so that there are no 'i just got a 162 on my last PT' posts in May, which will invariably cause one to freak out and ruin the mental resolve in the most crucial month before the test.

As far as I know there is not a specific agenda. Open forum to come in a work on various problems, questions, etc.

178 on PT 37 this past weekend And actually, it was because of a misbubble. Without that I would have a 179. Weird.

I think it's because I had seen some of the LR questions before, but still I got -1 on the RC and -0 on the LG! Yay!

I have no idea how my score fluctuates so much.

So how far along is everyone? I've finished the LGB and have taken four tests with an average around 165. I'm fairly content with this progress as I am shooting for a 172+ on the real thing but I'm curious how far along other people are.

Still making my way through LRB, just finished ch 11 today. Started drilling linear games from ptest 1-20, but I'm still working on grouping (ch 4) in LGB. Started doing some RC practice, I'm going to start reading either RCB or Atlas RC guide next week. Taking second diagnostic at the end of Feb.

progress has been slow lately, didn't get anything done over the weekend. But good job on finishing the LGB and your ptest average! Plenty of time to reach 172+
