Zeno's Unfinished Furniture #22

Postby apom » Sun Dec 12, 2010 3:00 pm

This is a complete and accurate list question of the types of furniture that she could buy that are made of maple. I'm not seeing how the answer is B) I thought there could be only 1 set of 2 pieces of furniture that are made of the same wood. When I put the Footstool and Table as made of maple then then the Side board and Hutch cannot be made of maple. When I draw another hypothetical with the footstool and table made of Pine then can I put the side boards and hutch as made of maple? (pine, pine, maple, maple) or does this violate the exactly two of the items she buys are made of the same wood rule? In this example we would have 2 items made of the same wood, but there would be 2 sets.

Ok I think I answered my own question by creating a 3rd hypothetical that had p, p, m, o. So I guess complete and accurate list asks what are all the possibilities are of the various hypothetical that are separately constructed?
