i left the test feeling....and now i feel....

Okay so for me I left feeling pretty good. now i'm freaked out. I don't know how i REALLY did, i felt good but then again i could have overlooked something on the games...it wasn't THAT bad in my opinion but since everyone else feels like it i MUST be delusional. sheesh. maybe it's because it was my first time and many first timers feel this way whereas repeat-ers are more aware that the feeling may not be indicative of your ACTUAL score. what are your thoughts?

1. first time?
2. how did you feel after leaving?
3. how do you feel now?
4. if it is a repeat, how did this test compare to the others?

Same. I felt reasonably good after the test, especially the games. Now I'm convinced I misread the strained glass one in particular. I left the test feeling I could score in the higher 160s, but now I'm down to 162 or 163.

I was a repeat, and while this test was harder than both June and October (the ones I sat for), I also felt like I did much better being more prepared. This obviously isn't the case anymore.

okay so...I BOMBED the October test (i did it as practice) I mean I got a 159....and I thought this test was EASIER than october...so if everyone else says it was actually harder, i must have done horribly. I am so confused.

You took the LSAT as.. practice?
You thought December was easier than October? :? :?:

Bad idea on the first part, but...
You are very lucky! You probably did quite well yesterday.

Many people think the LSAT is like the TOEFL or the SAT. You take it once to gauge your standing; then you decide what you need to work on; then you take it a 2nd time for real.

It's even worse in other countries. I met a guy in China the other day who said his son (who's in high school!) just took his "pretest" LSAT in October, scored 160 and plans to take his "actual" LSAT in February.

People don't realize how many schools, even shit schools, average multiple LSAT's.

I was getting that sort of advice from my own folks re the LSAT. Thank god I looked at a PT before registering.

No, October was not more difficult than December, I can state that as a fact, although I have no evidence to back it up. What I keep telling people, LR was WAY trickier than people are attributing to the sections, so many trap answers, hidden words in the stimulus. So many answers that were the correct answers didn't feel like the right answers until analyzing every little facet of the stim, which ate up quite a bit of time. On the harder LR I actually took the full 35 and had to rush a little bit, I usually finish LR no more than 30 minutes a section.

LG was a massacre, I can't even believe that I've left open the opportunity to get a -6.

i didn't DO the october test...i took it as a PT...literally. Kaplan had it and I went and practiced. I'm not dumb enough to take the ACTUAL test for funsies.

When I took the LSAT for the first time, I walked out feeling like, "Man, I left some points on the table there. There were some questions that I should've gotten right that I didn't. I hope I did okay."

I got a 176.

Your impression on test day or anxiety afterwards is not necessarily indicative of anything.

OP thats normal. I think the best indicator of how you did is how you felt coming out. After October I felt fantastic. As the time went on I started to freak out more and more. I ended up getting a slightly lower score than the range I predicted, due to an unusually high number of dumb mistakes (I'd say I got unlucky), but it was still a very decent score.

The fact that you found certain parts of the test easy while others here thought they were tough should only tell you that you probably did well.

Your main task now should be to stay away from TLS and try not to worry about it too much.

i really really hope i performed well!! really really really hope. I felt good...I mean there were PTs that felt worse and I scored 159-162 so I'm hoping that I AT LEAST got a 162....but there were apparently some tricks that I might have overlooked.

I almost cancelled a 173.

That happened to me in June, that will ruin you on RC, and hurt you a lot on the difficult LR's, trust me. I know the feeling of writing the LSAT with my mind kin dof blank not actively engaging myself in all passages stimulus' and games.

October had some difficult LR questions, but LGs were a joke. I feel like LR was the same in difficulty as October but brutally time consuming in LG. Anyone who thinks mulch was hard is crazy. Just count the spaces in between!

I left the October test, went home and literally lied on the floor for hours. I knew I messed up on an LG by misreading a rule. Worst feeling ever. I got my test back and got a 166. I had been PTing between a 166 and 169, so this was not totally disappointing. At the same time, I got all six of the questions wrong in the LG question that I knew I screwed up on. My conclusion is that if you have a bad feeling, there is probably a reason why, but it is also likely that you balanced the rest of the test out anyhow.

1. first time?
2. how did you feel after leaving?
3. how do you feel now?
4. if it is a repeat, how did this test compare to the others?
When I left the October test I felt just amazing.
Only a day or two later, and increasingly so for the next few weeks, I felt sure I'd done terribly. People disagreed with my answer etc. etc.
Then I got my score and I did as well as I thought I had initially. I think your initial feelings are better indicators then your later feelings.
(I thought I'd done terribly right after the Feb test [thought I should cancel], then I thought I'd done better later on and then I got my score back and I was really disappointing)

Each time I do badly on a test I kinda know...it's like "okay, i didn't get to all of the questions and had to guess on 8....that will cost me." Even on my cold diagnostic I got a 158....I'm trying to feel okay about it but i just don't know anymore. I FELT good...I really did but the whole thing is kind of a blur.

I felt like I did ok, was disappointed about the 3rd LG and having to blind guess like four, but the other sections felt solid to me.

After reading the board though seeing that there was a major deduction on the second game it made me think I screwed something up since I got through the game but it wasn't really easy. So if I just screwed the 3rd game then I will be ok, but if I screwed the second game as well I will probably be looking at a retake.

Mine was totally a blur too. All I could remember was that it FELT good at the time + a few weeks = 179
so stick with your initial gut feeling and try to relax :)

I think the best way to determine your score is to scour the December 2010 threads, finding the opinions of people who most likely approach critical thinking in a very different way than you, and determine your score off their opinions.
