LSAT percentile

Post by ISTAND » Thu Dec 09, 2010 7:03 am

My LSAT score listed a percentile. What does that mean? For example if it says your score is in the 90th or 10th percentile, of what use is that info?

if you're in x percentile it means you scored better than x percent of people who took the test. currently, iirc, 170 is 97th percentile, which means that 97% of people who take the lsat score worse than 170, and 3 percent score better.

HTH.

Also, this number is a reflection of a 3 year period, so these percentages don't necessarily stay fixed. Sometimes they will tweak up or down. It's really only your score out of 180 that matters though.
