How much time/Feb too soon?

Postby ebl1014 » Wed Dec 08, 2010 6:44 pm

So, I took the LSAT in June '10 and got a 164 actual with a practice test trajectory leading up to it of Initial Diag: 159 then PT's: 159, 160, 164, 165, 170, 164, 174 in that order. After doing a lot of research, applying to a bunch of schools this fall, and getting decent results (but deciding against a lot of those schools even WITH the possibility of decent money), I think I need to retake the LSAT. My breakdown in June was LR: -4 (both sections combined) RC: -3 and LG: -14. Fairly obvious what brought me down.
Anyway, my question is: Is February too soon to shoot for retaking when I haven't even looked at any of this stuff since the June test day? I graduate UG next week and have nothing but free time between now and then, but I want to make sure that I'm not kidding myself by thinking that I could really pull my LSAT (LG specifically) up by February.
Also, for whatever it's worth, I have a 3.47 LSDAS GPA (strong grade trajectory: 2.something freshman, 3.8 soph, 3.9 jr, 3.8 sr, with a good addendum). My 13 credits worth of A's this semester should put me up somewhere above a 3.5 I'd think. Any input on this is really appreciated. This forum has been a goldmine of info for me thus far and I really, really, appreciate it.

is feb too soon?

no. you have 1.5-2 months to improve LG. your LR and RC are fine. and i don't imagine that you'll lose those skills since june. be focused and disciplined. do games. review what went wrong on June 10.

hope this helps.
