I was thinking of taking about a month off from studying and then hitting the Logic Games. I've heard from a couple anectodal sources that sometimes taking some time off has resulted in better scores. I'm just worried I might forget some of what I've learned in that month or so.

Anyone ever take a couple month break in studying before taking the LSAT with good results? Bad results?

thanks

Are you retaking? Are you applying this cycle?

Take in December. If you dont like the outcome, wait a cycle and take in June.

if you dont think you will be adequately prepared for december, dont take it in december. Since february is very late for this cycle, and the test is not disclosed, wait until june. that way you will have an extra month from the end of finals to prep, and if you dont like your score, you know where you need to focus on over the summer.

However, if your score for October is decent, send a few applications out and see how it goes. Otherwise wait until you have adequate study, and save your chances ( you may be sick or have an epic bubbling fail during your re take and need to cancel the outcome)

This might be a little off topic but the thread title was misleading :P

I'm debating Dec/Feb as well.

I already signed up for Dec but I want more time to prepare. Very badly. And I'll be doing all self-studying since the courses for Dec are filled to the brim. I would be able to take some if I waited till Feb.

My MAIN question is, is it possible to get into Law School for next Fall if you take your LSAT in Feb?

and I think the answer is, only at SOME schools. I've heard some accept applications as late as Feb, but by the time I get my score, would it be too late? Plus, it seems schools like Utexas specify on their website that the latest they accept scores is by December.

From the UT website:
"To be considered timely for Regular Decision Admission, an applicant must take the LSAT no later than the December administration, register with CAS no later than January 10 of the year of desired entry"

I don't want to wait another year to go to Law School. I think I'd rather overload my brain with constant cramming for the next 5 weeks and explode and die.

post above:
if you arent satisfied with how your prep for decemebr is gong by the 17th, then postpone. Dont rush this test, and dont rush this application cycle. If you know you can do better, wait a year and give the test all the attention it deserves. otherwise you may regret the test

Thanks.. I think If I take the time I can score as high as I want.. but I'm such an impatient time-obsessed weirdo.. I want to be a lawyer NOW!

But you're right.. this probably isn't something one should rush..
