Why engage a troll? Review the information and make your own decision. It's not worth your time.

What kind of jobs are we discussing? Real jobs or part time jobs that a half trained monkey could do? For the former, I wish I were you, because I've had no luck, and neither have a significant amount of people. Damn you liberal arts, damn you.

IAFG actually goes to a t10 school, I think she's in a better position to judge than most of y'allSchopenhauerFTW wrote:This.Nikrall wrote:IAFG wrote:Going $200k into debt to very likely still not have a job isn't really a solution. I understand that the economy is weak and that it is hard but law school is expensive and, even at t10-14s, is about a 50% chance you will be as unemployed and even poorer in 3 years.Rikkugrrl wrote:These threads make me sad...the only time they should be created is if the OP can personally give out jobs to anyone they're advising to get a job. Kind of like why you shouldn't say "get a job" to a homeless person...and I sadly know a sickening amount of people with bachelor's degrees who are indeed homeless.
Making up facts about 50% of t10-t14 grads being unemployed doesn't make it true. You are also assuming that the economy will stay this weak, that getting a job now is a solution, and that the 200k doesn't pay off over the long run.
Is it more difficult than it used to be to get a job as a lawyer? Sure. Does it mean that generalized advice that if you don't do well on the LSAT on your first time, you should just give up on law school, is somehow useful? No.

Getting a full time job before law school is not a bad idea. Most law school students right now worked full time for some time after college (though at the top law schools there are a higher proportion of guys straight from college).
Don't people a few years out of college get some brownie points for age diversity reasons? I'm 26, so I'm clearly not in the same generation as a college senior, but I'm still not one of the true sages (the 35+ crowd).
The title is good advice. But you don't have to give up law school entirely either.

Still true after this LSAT. Don't get stuck thinking that you have to go to law school. There are other things you can do with your life.

This is analogous to a smoker telling me not to smoke.

I got relevant WE before LS. And re-took my shitty first score. It was a great decision.HeavenWood wrote:Do as I say, not as I attend?KevinP wrote:This is analogous to a smoker telling me not to smoke.

So... why do people want to go to law school?

Didn't do as well as you wanted? Get a connection/marry someone who has a partner parent.

Get a job...at a test prep company! Even better.IAFG wrote:Mmm no. Get a job.HeavenWood wrote:This is ridiculously hyperbolic.IAFG wrote:Getting a job > going to law school, for almost everyone.
Hate the job you have? Pay your dues and/or get a job you don't hate.
Would only not hate a job as a lawyer? lol you're wrong.
If you didn't do as well as you hoped, your first thoughts should be "retake," not give up.

Sorry but my degree in Philosophy doesn't even qualify me to wash dishes in most people's eyes.

She took her own advice, put off LS until she rocked a 173.
