Dec. test too late?

I'm contemplating retaking the LSAT in December, but I want to get all of my applications done before the score comes out January 10th. Is that too late? How does it work? I figure schools will see my first LSAT score, but will they know I'm taking it a second time? Hopefully it will have improved! For some reason my timing was so bad in October (I usually finish early, but it wasn't the case this time, I was rushing which probably was why I didn't do as well as I wanted...) Most schools are rolling, so will they even wait to look what I got a second time around (not including waitlists).
Thanks!

Just about every school will tell you that it's easier to get in if you apply earlier.

By applying in January, most places have already been allocated.

If you have a good GPA and can score above your target school's 75th percentile, you may be okay. Otherwise you are limiting your opportunities by applying later.

I'd be applying before my score came out for the Dec. test (January 10th). I just want to know if schools will know that I'm taking my LSATs again, and won't outright reject me before seeing it (that, is, ones that I'm competitive for).
