Score on Hold??? WTF????

Postby gangstar » Sat Oct 30, 2010 1:51 am

Your October 2010 LSAT information cannot be released because of a hold on your file or delay in score reporting. Once the hold or delay has been resolved, your LSAT information will be available under the LSAT tab in the LSAT Status section of your LSAC online account at http://www.lsac.org. Other test related documents (in accordance with LSAC disclosure policies) may also be available under LSAT Documents.

I got the same thing. I submitted a fee waiver appeal online. WTF. I can't get results for a test I paid for because I submit a fee waiver appeal (something that has nothing to do with the LSAT)? Yeah, that makes sense.

If I remember correctly, once you send the fee waiver appeal online, you either have to submit written documentation to back the appeal up or wait for the appeal to expire in order to get your score.

I think I'll just call and say "Please forget that fee waiver appeal". What do they get out of doing this? Delaying the release of a score on a test someone paid for because of a fee waiver appeal that comes after? That makes no sense. I'm not going to work on applications without knowing where I can go to law school.

It doesn't make sense, but someone posts about this every year and it always takes a few weeks for them to get their score back.

I first logged into the LSAC site at 6am on FRIDAY, and I finally got an email at 1am on SATURDAY. BS.

It was the same "Your file has a hold" that others have gotten. I did appeal my LSAC fee waiver denial, but I'm also hoping that it could be about a large uptick in my score (I scored a 151 first time cold, now my PTs are in the 165 range). If I call LSAC on Monday, will they tell me what my file is on hold for?

Found a thread from 2008 where a bro says that LSAC told him that his score was 'unusually high' so it was under review, will they make that distinction on the phone? It'd make my life if my score was 'unusually high,' I'm like 98% sure that it was actually me that took that damn test.

What's the cutoff for them thinking that you might have cheated? 10 pts? 15?

Rackball, I doubt its for that. All of us with fee waiver appeals have the same problem

For holding my score because of a fee waiver appeal, I better get back $136 I spent paying for the test already because otherwise, this makes no sense.

@rackball - I'm hoping your case is that you did so well it causes suspicion of cheating lol.

I faxed my supporting documents on Thursday and then called on Friday to check if the had been received. In standard LSAC form, the could neither confirm nor deny that my forms had been received, but the women told me that they currently working on fee waiver appeals from the 14th of October. Hopefully that gives you all some time line for when they might be done with your fee waiver.

Still banking on them thinking I cheated, but yes, this fee waiver thing seems much more likely.
