Re: DECEMBER 2010 DOMINATION
Went through all of the LR questions I've missed or marked for review and came with with the following stats:
Missed Percent Question Types
15 18.75% Must Be True/Most Supported
1 1.25% Main Point
2 2.50% Point at Issue
11 13.75% Assumption
0 0.00% Justify the Conclusion
10 12.50% Strengthen/Support
0 0.00% Resolve the Paradox
9 11.25% Weaken
3 3.75% Method of Reasoning
17 21.25% Flaw in the Reasoning
11 13.75% Parallel Reasoning
0 0.00% Evaluate the Argument
1 1.25% Cannot Be True
Going to reread the sections I'm struggling at. I'm confused about the difference between Assumption and Justify questions. The LRB didn't really help, but I'll reread that whole section just to be sure.

thank you for whoever posted that clip of Elle getting the 179. That just made me smile and has inspired me to get to work.
p.s. Pick what you are going to listen to on the drive to the test center. I'm burning CDs to put me in the right mindset. happiness will go a long way, I've already decided its 30% of the test where studying is 50% and luck is 20%

PT 60 today!
LR -3
LG -3
LR -3
RC -0
Raw 90
Scaled 172
Take that, mulch game! Actually, 2 of the ones I missed were mulch related, but whatever. Really excited about -0 on RC. I just need to do this on test day! For the rest of the week I'm going to review October 2010 and do some troubleshooting. Excited about Saturday!

WOW -0 on RC. Good job, that mulch game killed me when I took it in June.
I'm running out of test material, so I'm taking prep tests that I vaguely, sorta-kinda remember and scoring in the lows 170s. I really have no idea where I'm realistically at.

PT 38:
LR: -2
LG: -4
RC: -6
LR: -4
Score: 167
Tough RC with the historical structuring/contingencies and tree burning passages. I'd be more than happy with this score on my final test, but I know I can do much, much better.

I haven't reviewed it because I'm retaking it in February and want to wait a while so I can take it and see if I score better.StrictlyLiable wrote:superhands wrote:I did PT 61 today and scored a 164, a personal best. I thought the RC was easier than the other recent tests. Did anyone else feel the same?
Please tell me you are joking. This was my absolute worse RC I have EVER done (I missed 16). It honestly gave me a panic attack mid through because I couldn't focus. I dominated the rest of the test though. Im looking it over tomorrow, I hope it was just a fluke.
I'm serious, I though that this RC was easier than usual. Especially the section about the black historians. However, I took PT61 after a week long RC binge, which appeared to have helped. Also, I didn't manage to finish all four sections. I skipped section three and returned with only enough time to answer two questions and guess on the remaining four (two of which were D, my letter of the day) with a -2 as a final result. Yeah, it was mostly due to luck, but I was pretty pumped that my only wrong responses were guesses.

PT 36:
LR: -4
RC: -2
LR: -4
LG: -3
Raw score: 86
Scaled score: 167
Arguments on for these PTs in the latter 30s definitely seem a bit tougher than the PT 40-60.

PT 60. 167 scaled, 84 raw.
LR1 -4
LG -2
LR2 -4
RC -5
Terrible last PT! Hopefully I'm just getting it out of the way. The mulch game was really easy, imo, but the intern game was hard for me. Thought I did good on RC, but scored poorly. LR felt terrible the whole time.
Oh well! Hopefully Saturday I'll get lucky. Reviewing LR questions today from all tests and might do another RC passage later tonight.
Averages over 15 PTs:
Score: 172.87
LG -0.93
RC -3.60
LR -4.53
LR1 -4
LG -2
LR2 -4

This will affect predictions for all FT and PT programs.

Did the exact same thing and oddly enough, guessed on the exact same amount on RC3............. BUT, I did miss RC1 #1(omg im embrassed about this one) and RC2#11/12; 11 was hard for me to choose between B and C... 12 i eliminated a b c and then I didn't even realize that the "forgery" talked about wasn't a copy. i think i let my preconception of what a forgery is get in the way of me getting this right .

Any of you know why in the question on the african passage that asks for the authors meaning of reconstruction, why is the answer "to develop a conception of" rather than "correction a misconception"

Rock and roll. PT58 had some of the questions I hadn't touched/seen before and I did super (by my standards): 21/24 LR questions from both sections, -0 on 2 games in under 10 mins, and...-0 and -4 on the two RC passages I hadn't seen... Stupid music one.

Re: DECEMBER 2010 DOMINATION
yep, in australia. i keep wondering what to put on application forms that ask when i'm taking the lsat, as it will be sunday dec 12 here where i take it but saturday dec 11 in the US at the same time. On a side note this also makes me think about the religions that require saturday to be a no-work day.. whenever it's saturday where you are, it's a different day somewhere else on the planet.Beas wrote:Is anyone taking the December LSAT abroad? Just curious to see how many will be taking it overseas.
good luck all!
PT 56:
LG: -1 (ran out of time... oops)
LR1: -1
LR2: -2
RC: -0 (likely a fluke)
Exp: PT36 RC: -1 (not bad considering I suck at RC)
Raw: 96/100
Scaled: 178*
*Put the experimental section last, and wrote the test starting at 10:30am instead of 8:30am
Overall a pretty good PT.
