Took test in Oct. and thinking of taking again in Dec. ?
I'm wondering what you guys/girls think about this plan? I took the test this past Saturday and am very worried about my score because I know I butchered the LG section. In my PT's I was scoring in the mid 160's and getting -4/5 on LG but for this test I would expect somewhere around -10. On the other sections I feel like I did just as good as on PT's, maybe a little better. My plan is to study over these next three weeks as if I was taking the test in December and when I get my score back I will decide if I should go through with that or not. Unfortunately I do not have a great gpa so I was really counting on a good lsat score for the application. Thoughts on this?

If you know that you screwed up, retake. I screwed up and canceled on the place, so I'm definitely retaking in December (my last shot).

I also screwed up, almost entirely on LG like the OP. But I'm not cancelling... I just don't see why it's ever a good idea if you know you'll get higher on the next one and only your highest score is counted. I feel like it just makes someone look like a perfectionist or something (or maybe I'm overly cautious about coming across as a perfectionist).KevinP wrote:If you know that you screwed up, retake. yea, I am in the exact same boat. I had LR LG RC LR LG. The last games was real. I totally messed it up because the first game tripped me up. I usually go -0 to -3 on LG, unless there is a crazy dino game or something like that. I am not sure it is a good idea to cancel though, because you always risk there being a hard games section or a games section you personally mess up. I hate the feeling of it. I really hate the fact that I completely rocked the experimental games section. I probably got -10 on games instead of -3, but I am not sure. I guess we need to hear what other people have done in this situation? I am aiming for a 159-162, I have PTed in that range. I could get a 168 if all the stars aligned, but we all know that doesn't happen. My schools GPA is in the middle or 25% percentile of schools I want to apply to..so getting 75% LSAT is important. We still have time to think about it. I suggest writing your personal statement and taking some time away from studying. I was very well prepared for the test, maybe timing was my only issue.

Cancelling is a good idea if you really bombed a section. A lot of schools AVERAGE, unfortunately.

I am working on my personal statement this week and preparing as if I am going to apply when I get my score back. And you never know if the stars align maybe I will get the score I'm shooting for but I doubt it. Does applying after the December lsat as compared to October make a big difference in the admission process? I know law schools accept on a rolling admissions basis but basically I'm wondering if I get 5-7 points higher on my next lsat, will that make up the difference for applying a bit later?lawschoolisfun2012 wrote:yea, I am in the exact same boat. Other than top schools in the t14 I believe most take the higher score.ly2010 wrote:Attorney wrote:I also screwed up, almost entirely on LG like the OP. But I'm not cancelling...
