Retake in December

I took the October test yesterday and I definitely feel it wasnt where I want my score to be. For some reason having RC first really hurt me as that is my worst section and the 1st section is always my first section. I am 95% sure I will be retaking in December. When should I start studying again? Should I wait a week or so? All I can think about now is studying for it again.

if you know that you bombed it, definitely cancel your score and take it over (Do it quick though, the last day to cancel is the 15th) Most schools say that take the highest score "but consider all of your scores." Thats code for "were smart enough to look at two scores and take an average at least in our head.... I know I would. At any rate, if your'e not shooting for t14 or even t30 then maybe don't sweat it, otherwise cancel your score. A cancelled score does not reflect badly on you where a low score even followed by a high score can still hurt your chances of getting into a top program.

oh and start studying immediately,.... it certainly wont make you do WORSE if you study more,... and relax. I think i Annihilated the 3/4 of the test but my first sec was the reading comp and i too freaked out and probably underperformed. I was so tense I think I froze for damn near five minutes. I'm going to keep my score,.. but it was a really hard decision, I almost cancelled on the spot because of the RC section.

On the other hand if you think you did within your own acceptable range, especially if the other sections were good, then maybe keep the score (only you know what works for you). The games section, despite what a lot of people are saying, was the easiest I think I've ever seen. It would be a shame to get killer games section in December and fall down hard on that and be in essentially the same boat.
