The guy next to me: Sorry, I don't speak English.

Then the proctor explained it to him in Mandarin...
If your trying to be funny, epic fail. If you are trying to tell a story that is even remotely interesting, epic fail.

I thought that was hilarious.

....I don't see how....It was clearly a fail.... On so many fronts....
I just thought it was funny how the guy who doesn't speak English was gonna take the LSAT.

After the first five sections, proctors were telling us to read the instructions on the writing sample but not open the writing sample. When they were about to start the time, a guy frantically raised his hand: he left the blue writing sheet in his exam. Entire class waited while they looked for his exam.

That guy was me.

O, my proctor starts handing out the exam, and two guys in the back raise their hands that need to go to the bathroom. The proctor recollects the exams and escorts them to the bathroom.

True, but I know a lot of people who can read English and can't speak. Multiculturalism eh?

there were three separate father/daughter teams in the check-in line. the fathers weren't there to write the test. how precious.

panic broke out next to me when a girl couldn't locate the test form code. the detailed verbal and written instructions weren't enough to guide her. i wonder how she did on the test?

the girl behind me had some "medicine" in a container on her desk the proctors asked her about. i heard her pop it just as we were being told to start the first section. what kind of medicine do you need to take at exactly the same time as the test starts? wait. i don't want to know. i'd probably wish i'd had some too.

Half the room had to go to the bathroom after check in at my exam. Two guys brought only mechanical pencils. All around a room full of fail.

Yeah, we had bathrooms in our testing room a fact which once realized by the masses caused, as I'm sure you can imagine, several instances of pandemonium.

what did you say to him? i think i would have a hard time disguising my "you should NOT be going to law school" look.
you realize this is the average person that takes the LSAT, right? don't be so snobby. maybe you'll be working for him someday.

and btw i never got a 150-150, or near there, on a practice test if that's what your thinking.

my whole pt is be proud you have a gift, but don't be a dick over it. if your goal is $ and power, keeping your pride to yourself will work much better for you. the dude has a goal. be supportive. social skills 101.

i admit that i was being a jerk-a-saurus-rex. i think tls has completely skewed my sense of "normal" lsat scores. and seriously frightened me as to the future of any lawyer coming out of a less than t14 school. apologies.

This place *definitely* will skew your perception of a decent score.
When I came here I thought if I could get a 165 It'd be the absolute balls, and a 163 would be great.
Now I expect to be horribly depressed to see less than a 170 and I'll feel like a sped-bus window-licker.

After checking in a guy, he asks if he can go to the bathroom. The proctor is like NO WAY JOSE. SIT DOWN. Guy gets angry and all WTF-y. Angrily sits down. Proctor is all ITS THE RULES.

About an hour later once the proctor finally checks everyone in and we've filled in our little bubbles for our names and stuff, she announces: "Okay, if anyone has to go to the bathroom, now's the time!"

About 25 people (including me, I'm going to take advantage of a bathroom break if it's offered!) rush to the washroom.

Proctor: "Well, there goes your early start!"

She didn't start checking us in until 8.30. That's where my early start went. 10 minutes for bathroom breaks is nothing.

My friend and I hit up the washrooms upstairs where there wasn't a line, so we got back quickly in time to hear the proctor say:

"Well, we should just start, they can't take all day, they should have gone earlier, I'm just going to start, what are they doing, I want to just get started." Huffs and puffs for a minute or so while we wait for everyone to come back.

it's huge but even a 180 by itself doesn't guarantee anything but an impressive resume as an LSAT tutor. being exceptionally intelligent is just one of several factors necessarily to acquire extreme wealth, power and influence over society which i'd imagine is each of our goals respectively.

Tell me about it.
I found this site when I was hoping for something in the high 160s...now a 167 just sounds like so much dog crap.

+1. Managed to score a 165 in February and was very happy. Then I found TLS. Retake.

from where I started to where i was prepping right before the test, I had made a 19 point jump from my diagnostic to my last prep test. I was and still am completely happy with how I did ( and I wont cancel my score because of it), but since im not in the 99%tile, I allready signed up for the december test, just because I know there is a very slight possibility that I can get there

The proctor responded with a somewhat perplexed, "are you serious" face, and said, "when I tell you to turn the page etc., begin when I say NOW. Does that answer your question? If you started when I said to turn the page though it wouldn't be that big of a deal, its not like the three seconds it takes me to say the rest will make any difference."

my proctor just said 'turn the page' for one of the sections and we were all uhm?? and just started. lost those 3 seconds and was not happy about it!

Guy: ever so slightly sniffles DURING THE 10 MINUTE BREAK.
Girl with stick up her ass: Could you please use a tissue instead of sniffling the whole time? That'd be awesome

Me: face in palm

October LSAT:

Me: Hey, taking it again? (thinking to myself duh he is taking it again)
Spacy Friend: Yeah, I haven't studied anymore but hopefully I will do a little better.
Me: Thinking to myself that this kid is a glutton for punishment...Where do you want to go to law school?
Spacy Friend: I am not sure, I just got a full ride to Stanford for electrical engineering so I thought I would see if I could get a full ride to law school too so I have options. I got a 176 last time but had to go the bathroom during the test so I missed a few questions.
Me: blank stare

Most of these stories were funny and they made me laugh, or at least feel better about myself.
This one didn't, partly due to my seething jealousy of his abilities.

There was a random preppy girl bubbling with overconfidence at my center and looking much less serious than the others there (me included). Once she found out that I had some common acquaintances with her, she decided she wanted to spend the waiting period gossiping with me, which was annoying. Meanwhile, her dad was boasting about how they came from a family of lawyers and that she had a good chance at Yale and was obviously trying to psych all the other test-takers out.

At the break, she came up to me desk and asked me if she should cancel, because she didn't complete any of the sections AND completely guessed through LG. I told her to keep trying, but she walked out as soon as the fifth section was over. I felt sorry for her, because she seemed like a genuinely nice person (if dim), but I was secretly not so sorry for her overbearing dad and his confidence in Legacy Powah.

guy next to me brought only mechanical pencils, got barked at before starting the test and switched to real pencils bc of a nice proctor. Same guy after the test was talking about how he's been prepping for the test, and consistently hitting 169-170...

I'm sorry but, if you've taken enough tests, or prepped for them to the point of reaching that score, wouldnt it have been pretty obvious that mechanical pencils much like cell phones/calculators/and other items are strictly prohibited? I wanted to backhand the dude for being such a tard.

Also, Two typical Miami-Chonga girls were taking the test beside me, and I kept hearing them say "I just want like a 150" this made me feel a little better about myself, If I broke 167 on this test its bc of TLS I swear.
