Why would you need to study how to mark "B" for ever question?ariadne328 wrote:Don't know if this really qualifies as funny, but when I took the test last October, the girl sitting behind me was aiming for a 140. When I questioned her about this, she said her parents, both lawyers, wouldn't let the idea of her going to law school go until she took the LSAT. She had actually studied so she could do badly (her diagnostic was 162) and get them off her back. It seemed like way more work to me that just sitting them down and telling them she wanted to get an MBA (which she was super excited about), but to each their own I guess. I would love to know what she ended up getting.
I don't know... she seemed nice but like she hadn't really thought her whole plan through... I let the conversation drop after this.jas1503 wrote:Why would you need to study how to mark "B" for ever question?ariadne328 wrote:Don't know if this really qualifies as funny, but when I took the test last October, the girl sitting behind me was aiming for a 140. Exactly what I was wondering... It's pretty easy to fail a test on purpose.jas1503 wrote:Why would you need to study how to mark "B" for ever question?ariadne328 wrote:Don't know if this really qualifies as funny, but when I took the test last October, the girl sitting behind me was aiming for a 140. The whole point is that if she does well, her parents will force her to go to law school..slack_academic wrote:Plus, why not gun for a high score? If you get a really high score and mention it in a business school app, it's not like it could hurt. Worst case you have it and don't have to use it at all. Clearly law school was not her biggest problem.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:The whole point is that if she does well, her parents will force her to go to law school..slack_academic wrote:Plus, why not gun for a high score? I'm not defending her stupid plan.slack_academic wrote:at gunpoint, or what?TheMostDangerousLG wrote:The whole point is that if she does well, her parents will force her to go to law school..slack_academic wrote:Plus, why not gun for a high score? They were gonna litigate if she didn't follow their plan.slack_academic wrote:at gunpoint, or what?TheMostDangerousLG wrote:The whole point is that if she does well, her parents will force her to go to law school..slack_academic wrote:Plus, why not gun for a high score? She was probably trying to hit around 140, so that she could pretend she tried. If she guesses all "B" and her parents ask to see her scoresheet breakdown, it would be suspicious.* Still, it seems like a stretch to call 8 questions on each section and guessing on the next ten and failing to fill out the last parts of each section "studying."steel_shot wrote:Exactly what I was wondering... Maybe her parents are going to look at her answer sheet to make sure that she did it correctly?jas1503 wrote:Why would you need to study how to mark "B" for ever question?ariadne328 wrote:Don't know if this really qualifies as funny, but when I took the test last October, the girl sitting behind me was aiming for a 140. But if she scored 162, she could easily have just picked out a few easy ones and guessed on the rest. Ah well, I think we can agree it was a dumb plan anyways haha.keviiiiiiiiiiiin wrote:She was probably trying to hit around 140, so that she could pretend she tried. *I'm assuming she wouldn't be able to stand up to her parents, because... she didn't.

Instructor, can I get I to HYS?Word1 wrote:This was in Prepping for the LSAT.
Girl: So I plan on going to Stanford
Me: oh yea?
Girl: yea. I already found an apartment and everything.
Me: oh so how'd you do on the LSATs?
Girl: I'm taking in June
Me: oh cool, how do you expect to score?
Girl: mid-170s
Me: awesome.
Girl: yea, my strategy is that I skip the hardest Logic Game and the hardest RC passage. And I usually get through at least 20 LR questions and only get a few wrong.
Me: so, how do you expect to get a 175?
Girl: oh, it works out. My Instructor said so.
Me: I'm not sure if it does actually work out.
Girl: well, have you heard of the "Curve"??
Me: ...yes, yes I have.
Girl: anyway I'm a girl and an underepresented minority. I'll be fine.
Me: hmmmm... Enjoy Stanford.
That's idiotic.Word1 wrote:This was in Prepping for the LSAT.
