Fatty tissue! He's fine. I couldn't tell if people believed it really was fatty tissue, or if they were lying to me because they didn't want me to worry about it during the LSAT, but he's fine.

Student Guide: "So are there any questions?"
Arguably-18 year old girl decked OUT in Alpha Kappa Alpha gear: *raises hand*
Guide: "uh..yeah?"
AKA: "So what is the sorority and fraternity life like here?"

The tour guide stares at her for a few seconds and says: "This is a law school tour"
AKA: "what?"

Guide: *silent stare. Leads group out of library.*
...that's gotta be a tough mistake to make, right?

I was trying my hardest to make this connect with the back-cracking story. It felt like a reach, but I was really starting to think it made sense.

So much for that.

Was it "what?" like she didn't know she was on a law school tour, or "what?" like she had no idea what was weird about that question?

Guy: "You nervous?"
Me: "Well, it's my third test. So, not really. You go here?"
Guy: "No I got a math degree from [rival state school]."
Me: "Oh, cool. You like the games then? Can you go -0 on LG?"
Guy: "Yeah, I love them. I'm really good at them. I don't know if I can get -0 because I've never timed how long it takes me to do them."

Not the LSAT, but close enough.
A mortgage broker trying to get me to refinance my fixed rate to an ARM (with virtually no savings):

Him: My son is gonna go to law school. He wanted to get an MBA, but he failed the GMAT.
Me: how'd he do on the LSAT?
Him: 135

Guy in front of me with huge messenger bag is getting checked in

Guy: "Where can I put my bag?"
Proctor: "[Other Proctor], where can he leave his bag?"
Other Proctor: "Just keep it in the back there."

later...
Other Proctor: "Also, there are no cell phones allowed. If you have a cell phone, turn it off and I'll hold onto it until the end of the test."

This is hilarious. However, I'm pretty sure it's "illegal" to wear a Greek organization's letters/paraphernalia while not being a member. I wonder if any AKAs on that campus checked her.

She could be an alumnus. Though that wouldn't really make sense if she was 18.

Being an alumnus wouldn't make sense is she was a she. A "she" should be an alumna.

Common mistake - I feel that it is my civic duty to correct it when I see it. At least you didn't say she was an "alumni."

The rule:

Alumnus - a single male graduate
Alumna - a single female graduate
Alumni - a group of all male or mixed-gender graduates
Alumnae - a group of all-female graduates

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.

People who describe themselves as "I'm an alumni of..." make me go into an internal aspie rage.
