"if and only if" not the same as "only if", right?

I haven't seen a game with "only if" in a whiiiiiiiile but I've been getting a lot of "if and only if" and I want to be certain that a simple "only if" is not indicative of a double arrow <---->
J only if X should be diagrammed as
J ---> X

you got it right. Whenever you see "only if" translate it to a "then"
