LR section 2.

The one about cholesterol.

I get why C is right but doesn't it seem like B could be an answer too? The entire conclusion seems to be based upon suspecting that lipoprotein is somehow linked to heart disease so....

I got this one wrong too (picked B) when I took this test about a month ago, so I'm not claiming expertise, but here is how I see it.

B. It provides no evidence for a link between lipoprotein(a) and heart disease.

LINK is fundamentally another word for correlation. When reading that answer it is not saying that there is no evidence of a causal relationship, it is claiming that the argument has no evidence of a correlation.

Now going back to the passage...

"Recently, above average concentrations of the blood particle lipoprotein(a) were found in the blood of many people whose heart disease was not attributable to other causes."

I think what that particular sentence is doing is precisely showing a correlation.

Therefore the claim that there is no evidence of a correlation is false and it isn't a flaw in the argument.
