PT 48 has an insane curve

Post by Cromartie » Sun Aug 22, 2010 4:44 pm

Just gone done with this PT and got a -5 for a 174. -3 on LG (for some reason, the last LG threw me off) and -2 on RC. Got the question about the connotation of "inheritance" in Q8 of the 2nd passage (chose E instead of C) and the question about the primary purpose of the last passage (Q27, chose C instead of B) wrong. First time I've fallen below 176 in the past 1.5 months.

The curve must be one of the stingiest ever. -8????? Anyone have any insight on the curve for this PT? Didn't seem significantly easier than the immediately preceding PT's....

Lol...I got a lot of the same questions wrong as you.. and I agree, it's a bitch of a curve. I also thought that it was by no means an easy test. I thought some of the RC questions were really tricky (the inheritance question had answer choices that were remarkably similar). I was averaging around 176-177 for the past 13 or so tests and I ended up with a -4 but a 175 on PT48.

Yup. Games were maybe average or slightly below average on this PT, but RC and LR (particularly the 2nd LR section) were definitely above average. It wasn't so much the complexity of the passages and stimuli as the subtlety of the errors in the answer choices. I thought this one should've been a -10 at least, but what do I know?
