Hey guys, having a bit of trouble diagramming this out. Here's what I got so far:

P1:Profitable-->preexisting recording believed to sell well on CD
P2:Few played on radio
C: Most jazz classics will not be transferred to CD

Is the correct answer choice (e) diagrammed like this: transferred to CD-->recording played on radio companies believe to be profitable

Can't seem to wrap my mind around this one...

How I answered it was:

Only recordings being transferred to disc are ones that record companies will beleive will sell well enough to be profitable.
Few jazz classics are played on the radio, so most of them won't be transferred.
--> Meaning that if something isn't played on the radio, radio companies won't believe it will sell well enough to be profitable.

A. This answer doesn't make a difference. Say there's 1000 jazz songs, and only 2 rock songs that this company can decide to transfer... you could transfer 5 jazz songs and only 2 rock songs or whatever but still, few jazz classics are being transferred.
B. It doesn't matter how the recordings aer being play ont he radio.
C. I had this as a contender. But it's too extreme and kind of a reversal.
D. Well, sure, maybe this is true, but they don't HAVE to be less interested in preserving jazz recordings for them not to do it.
E. This is the leap you need to make to justify the conclusion - few are played on the radio - if it's not played on the radio it won't be profitable - so jazz classics are mostly not profitable.

I chose C over E because I thought E was the reversal.

C isn't right because the conclusion isn't about what songs are played on the radio - it's a conclusion regarding what songs AREN'T played on the radio. There could be songs that are played on the radio but the radio company doesn't believe will be profitable. But the thing you're looking for is something to connect jazz recordings not being played on the radio to the radio company's belief in it making a profit or not. C doesn't address jazz recordings, because they're NOT played on the radio.
