I was just wondering what everyone's first prep test was after they'd started studying. I'm been studying around 15 hours a week for the past month now, and I just took the A test from the superprep book to guage where I am.

Here's how it broke down:
-5 LR
-4 RC
-10 LG (I don't know what the hell happened here--I had been getting around -3 on individual sections up to this point. I was sure LG would be my strongest section)
-7 LR

This amount to a 159--My diagnostic before I'd really started studying was a 155.

At this point I've gone through the LG bible and I've gotten through the causal reasoning chapter in the LR bible. I'd had no practice in RC, but I felt like I was already a pretty strong reader.

any advice?

Keep working and stop looking for reassurance from TLS. You'll do fine.

Its a prep test for a reason. Find out what went wrong and prep for it!

If think SuperPrep A Logic Games were hard... wait until you try B and C.

Is that the book the LSAC provides?

The problem with the bibles is that they don't provide a lot of practice material. Are you taking sections from other tests for practice? It seems like you need a lot of help with LR. I'd be less concerned with games at this point, though I wouldn't ignore them. Did most of that -10 come from a particular game or two? If yes, re-read the bible's section on those game types.

Yeah, I know. They were all pretty standard linear games. I took a lot longer to diagram one of the games then I should have, so that threw me off time and mental wise for the rest of the section. Like I said, I've done several sections of games with varying difficulties and I probably averaged -4.

I have been doing sections--I have all three of the 10 preptest books. I'm not AS concerned about LR simply because I haven't made my way through the latter half of the LRB. At first glance it seemed like I was missing questions that I had not reviewed yet.

The -10 came from the latter games mainly because I was low on time and was sloppy on my diagrams. It took me a long time to diagram the second game for some reason (the one about products and sellers or whatever).

Don't be discouraged that you have only improved a few points and that LG was your worst section. It takes a while to show improvement, so just keep on working on it. After reading a few prep books, I started to take as many practice tests as I could about 5 weeks leading up to the June LSAT. LG was really shaky at first, but eventually became my best section (-0 on the actual test). After a few weeks I realized that LR was my weakest section, so I ended up getting the LR Bible by Logicscore to help out. It helped a little but that section really hurt my score. Hope this helps!
