Is it worth my time studying the random games?
Ive been studying the Logic Games Bible and I was wondering what your opinions are about the Random Games (Chapter 7-The Forgotten Few). Is it worth my time? Have most of you skipped that chapter?

The games you refer to are not random in any proper sense of the term. Having said that, sure, we are still months out of the next test, and those sorts of games are bound to crop up again. I'm sure we'll see a pattern or a true circular game in the next few years.

if games is what you need to improve, do absolutely every single game you can get your hands on. Then, do them again. Ad infinitum.

whatever you are calling 'random,' yes. That will help your overall brain power in solving these problems. If you stick to all the 'normal' games and learn them, thats great, but what if they drop a mauve dino on you, or some other game that gave people intense trouble?? By studying odd ball random games, you will develop your ability to think on the spot and dissect games that arent exactly what you expected.
but then again, i could be wrong.

You aren't wrong. This is exactly people should do the forgotten few and other random games. You don't want to get used to only doing/being able to do linear/grouping games.itsfine wrote:whatever you are calling 'random,' yes. Thanks will do. I think you guys are right. Im sure the techniques in these games can be useful for the others and plus since this is my last chance to retake it before I apply I cant afford surprises. Just needed to make sure I was thinking straight.

there is a reason they include them....by having seen and learning to do games like this you have an advantage over people that do not. Imagine if you skipped the chapter and a very similar game popped up on the next lsat. Plus many still reinforce other things that you have learned.

mauve dino wasn't random at all, it was very definitely a common type of game.

+1, common indeed. It isn't even in, say, the 10 hardest games.

i thought that game was simple... all in the setup i suppose. I also don't see what makes it at all random... seemed to me just a grouping game.sumus romani wrote:Audio Technica Guy wrote:mauve dino wasn't random at all, it was very definitely a common type of game.
