Here is my review of the bibles that i have been using for the past three weeks.
For someone who is new and studying for the LSAT and is having the same problems i was having this might be helpful when making the investment.
Logic Games: I found this to be extremely helpful, as before the bible i was getting 10 or 11 wrong. The first few chapters really helped me diagram the questions well. It also helped me cut my time down on each set by four or five minutes. In addition by reading the first few chapters only so far, i am down to -4 or so on the section.
Logic Reasoning: Still a bit mixed on whether it is helping or not. It is great for pointing out some subtle tricks, like the main point or incorrect answer tendencies. I do not like the fact the the chapters have heavy diagramming, as i feel it might confuse more than help. The explanations for some of the practice questions seem to explain the hardest of questions, however, it has not greatly affected my incorrect rate which before the bible was -13 to -15 and after -8 to -11.

Re: My unbiased review of the bibles
So let me get this straight: after just reading the LR Bible, you're getting 5 less questions wrong on the LSAT, and sort of complaining about it.
Got it.
Also if you're not understanding the diagrams, something is wrong. The point is not for you to be diagramming every question, it's supposed to show you how to understand particular clauses in the stimulus and translate them into relevant logical relations.
Got it.

I credit the 5 or so more correct answers to me recognizing the questions more than when i was just taking them for the first time. The questions where my improvement has really jumped is the flawed reasoning, a section that i have not done yet in the bible. I do agree the bible has helped me with other parts, however, i wish it was less diagramming on the pages and more explanation in detail why a certain answer was right.
I do understand the diagramming, however, i am not finding it very helpful on LR questions, whereas it really has helped on the logic games.

I'm going through the bible right now and I feel the diagrams are helpful. I think the diagrams are supposed to serve as explanations as to why the answers are right. I never draw them out for a problem, though. But understanding the logic behind them is helpful and for me, helps with picking the right answer. For example, while reading a question I'll see an argument and be able to guess think "I bet the answer is the contrapositive of the chain" or something like that.
I suppose the biggest factor here is that everyone learns different and the bibles may not be effective for some test takers. You could always try another method or book but it may be confusing to switch strategies.

Personally, I saw faster improvement with the Logic Games Bible. However, the Logic Reasoning Bible is my favorite. It takes a lot more studying, but I think the time and the book are well worth the investment.

Re: My unbiased review of the bibles
LR bible is far and away the most important book in LSAT preparation. No other book covers logical reasoning questions so well. The LG bible is much less important because many companies have good strategies for dealing with logic games. If you don't understand diagramming you WILL NOT succeed on the lsat. Even if you don't use diagramming while taking the test it is still one of the most important elements of scoring high.
