October 2010 Retake Progress (trying to go from 163 to 170+)

Postby erryo » Sat Jul 03, 2010 2:02 am

So I'm going to record my progress here and would appreciate tips or just general thoughts from people.

Right now I am in phase "Days 1-30" where I break up 4 practice tests a week and do them over a 8 day span (2 LGs, 2 RC passages, and 1 LR section per day), and on the 9th day do a complete 4 section PT. Then I will use the 10th day to review and learn from my mistakes.

I just finished my first two days (did PT 15) and scored a 163. That is what I scored on the real thing this past June.

What do you think of my study plan? Any tweaks? Any ideas on what to do for the next phase (Days 31-60) or the last 40 days? I was thinking of doing a 5-section PT every 5 days over the last 40 and using the 10 most recent ones for those.

Thanks

So far:
Days 1 & 2 - PT 15 - 163 (-3 LG, -8 LR, -8 RC)

Looks solid and a lot of work. Spend more time thinking about how to improve and practice that, rather than hammering out so many PTs every decade.

Thanks. What would you recommend doing for review? Right now I am reviewing every missed question after I complete each test (every 2 days) and figuring out why I chose the wrong answer and so forth. I realize that review is just as important as working the questions.. that is why I have the 10th day set aside for review only. I am keeping track daily of which types of questions I miss and on the 10th day I was going to reference the bibles for help on the most missed questions. And I was also going to thoroughly review the full prep test that I do on the 9th day on that day.

Thanks
