Yep!
I'm even quitting my job to study full time for the test at Yonsei in oct. I took it in June, but I didn't do as well as I wanted to.
I live in Kyonggi province btw.

ive been thinking of taking time off work for the october exam. Not sure if it will work out though. It's not that I don't have enough free time after work, but I just feel so burnt out after dealing with kids all day.

I'm a retaker too, took it last June, got a 162, but didn't really prep to hard, maybe 7 or 8 pt's. Probably writing an addendum about adapting to life in Korea. I want somethin in the mid 170's, hopefully I can pull it off.

I know that test was two weeks later than the American LSAT, and it was a completely different test. This test is on the same day as the American one, so it may be the same test. Also the Asian test is undisclosed, pretty annoying for retakers

Nope.. even if it's on the same day, due to the time difference the test will be different from the U.S. one. Hope this helps :)

Definitely always good to know. Not that I plan on trying to use forums or bother trying to figure out which section is the experimental, as thats what got me into trouble last June... read some misleading info on one of the forums, and didn't cancel against my better instincts.

Also, anyone want to meet up to study on the wknds in Seoul or in Gyeonggi-do? I need have something to stop me from wasting weekend after weekend in hongdae

I'm taking at Yonsei in Oct. I'm in Daegu if any one else is here, I'd love to study with some people.

Screw ktx, not fast enough lol (plus I gotta fly Asiana 28 more times to keep my elite status)

And uh no you don't. Do you have any idea how many goddamn tourists there are here? (I live in Haeundae, it sucks)

And I haven't started the course yet, but I only registered because it fit my schedule and it was the cheapest ($1k+ for Powerscore/Kaplan vs. $690)

Anyways, if anyone's taking the december test (at Duksung), maybe we could meet up afterwards and get totally wasted (or use the alcohol to burn the Powerscore books-jk logic games are actually kinda fun). Oh and I'm so taking time off work.

So um since we're like 14 hours ahead of the States do we get our scores the day after the people at the States do? If so that sucks royally.

How's the studying going for everyone? I should really hunker down and start studying hardcore now.
Did you guys do the meetup and study thing?
I'd be down if anyone's still interested.

what kind of English teacher are you!? You aren't taking this entire week of chuseok to go to Busan and get drunk with other expats eh, haha. Okay, neither am I. This week = study time galore.
What coffee shop are you going to be at?

I submitted a thread awhile back about coffee shops and noise, but recently I've been studying in Starbucks at Gwacheon, and the noise is kind of nice. There's also a good Dunkin Donuts near where I live in Anyang that I like to study at.

Anyone know someplace I can get an LSAT tutor? Kaplan in Gangnam doesn't do private tutoring (what idiots), and I definitely don't think there's anyone here in busan that got a 172+. I hit a wall at raw scores between 85 and 88 and I probably need intense tutoring to get to 90+.

I might try the telephone tutoring thing with Powerscore, though at $100/hour it's pretty fucking expensive, and I'm not sure if it's going to help as much as in person tutoring.

If you hit raw scores at 85/88 you know the concepts. Self prep should be sufficient.

They look fine on the surface but I did take an hour for each section to get that score. Think upper 60s/lower 70s timed (20% or so lower?), though I haven't taken a timed PT in at least a month (the last one was a lousy 67/scaled 155).

I'm working in Shenyang, China, a 70 minute flight from Seoul, and I'll be taking the October LSAT in 2 weeks.

Does anyone know how to find the testing center? I have a Korean friend here, and she says Yonsei University is huge.

It's pretty easy, I'm a retaker, so last time I just had a cab bring me from Sinchon station to Yonsei, then had the cab ask some people walking around where the exact building was. I checked in with the guy in charge of the building and he gave me the deets. I went there last weekend, and its in the same place.

To get to Yonsei, take exit 3 out of Sinchon station, and walk straight down the road for about 10 minutes. Go through this tunnel that comes out into a large intersection, and Yonsei is right across the road. The test center isn't all that hard to get to either. Just walk straight down the main campus road until you come to a fork. Go left, up the hill. The building is right at the top, I think its got a sign on it saying something about graduate studies.

You should visit it first, you don't want to be worrying about directions on test day. I'm going to take a couple practice tests there this weekend in the morning. PM me if you want to join up.

As I said, I live in China. But I'd be happy to do it Saturday afternoon, the day before the test. I'm planning to rework the 57, 59, and 60 logic games the day before just as kind of a "warm up."

Oh yeah. Well, I meant that to be open to anyone. And I'll be around Saturday, I'm planning on renting a motel for the night; even though my commute is only an hr by bus/subway, I'd rather have that extra hr of sleep

yeah, a cancel never feels good. It is however, much better than not cancelling. I messed up the June test pretty bad, for some reason though, I just couldn't bring myself to cancel. And now I've got a low score following me around. So... cheer up!

there were some people there saying some pretty hilarious comments. One guy asked me "hey so whats a good score on this test?" I wasn't sure if he was trying to psyche me out or what. It felt a lot different from the June test I took at Yonsei, where it seemed like people were much more focused. But maybe thats just cause I was way more prepared this time.
