Not worth it. It is just the bibles with a guy going over them and a white board. Unless you are in the 140's there is nothing in that class that would help you more than diligent self study and lots of PTs. Save your money.

Any advice on decent courses? I need an alternative to the self study. I get distracted and discouraged. Any advice would be great

Well if you want the Powerscore Bibles taught to you in a condensed form then Powerscore Online is the thing for you. But if you have trouble studying on your own good luck - you cant really expect a sizeable score increase from sitting down infront of a computer for a couple hours a day for a few weeks...... because guess what the homework is for powerscore? doing problems on your own.

I had the same problem Ari. The class is catered to the slowest person - alot of the time we would go over the same problem multiple times because suzy q didnt get this or that. While it was refreshing to have some of the concepts spoken aloud and diagrammed - its all in the bibles! and the class materials are.... the bibles! to a t! i dont think there is any new information in the powerscore class materials that not in the bible - I could be wrong.

Thanks for the advice. I have the books and I understand most if not all of the material but my nerves tend to get the best of me. I was hoping that listening to the class would really drill the concepts and force me to ask more questions then when I study on my own.

I took the Powerscore Virtual Class last summer, and I actually found it really helpful (went from 168 diagnostic test to 176 real thing). My teacher was responsive and happy to answer problems or questions we were having, or spend more time on a subject that was giving us problems. I thought getting all the extra practice tests and practice problems made it a great deal more valuable than the bibles alone, and the flexible location worked for me since I was traveling a lot. My class even ended up getting to work with the creator of Powerscore himself for a while because our other teacher was on vacation for a couple of weeks. He gave us his direct email for questions about anything related to law school applications and was really helpful overall.

The caveat: you MUST do all the homework if it is to be of use to you. If you're willing to do 100-150 pages of reading/practice problems per week, then I think it can be a very useful tool.

I guess I should say my experience with Powerscore wasn't as great, a couple times their servers went down and the class was cancelled/rescheduled. And I was starting my last semester/internship so I did not have time to do the 100-150 pages of HW a week.

I took it last fall/winter and I must say I was disappointed with the constant switching of instructors, late start to classes and technical difficulties. :x I took what I could and decided to study on my own using the books from the class (Bibles + homework). Guess I'll see if it was worth it in December.
