I just finished my first timed PrepTest and scored a 162. I'm hoping to bump this up to 170+ by the October LSAT. Is this possible or am I dreaming?

Of course it is possible. Did you prepare at all for your first practice LSAT test?

I went through the LG, LR and RC bibles. I have yet to throughly analyze it but one the 10 wrong answers I glanced at they were all either 50/50 or I just made a stupid mistake. Not to mention I was exhausted from concentrating so hard for over 2 hours.

Well you can do it, but taking your first test after that much studying means it will be hard. A lot of people do their first practice test completely cold (not any studying before) and make 10-20 point jumps (its what i'm hoping for with a completely cold 160). But just continue to study hard.

Just a question: Why would you do the bible before taking your first diagnostic?

You take the diagnostic to know what you'll need to improve on.

You have a lot of potential never the less.

I don't know why I did all the bibles before my first diagnostic but hopefully it doesn't hurt me very much. I would say the hardest part was not having enough stamina near the end of the test (I was -2 and -3 on the first 2 sections), how long does it usually take to build up stamina so you don't burn out near the end of section 3 like I did.

As far as stamina goes, it's just something you have to work at. Hence, people on here take every single PT before their test sometimes. Also, a little tip I learned that I think helped me. When in the LR sections, once you finished questions 14-15, go to questions 20-25(26) and knock those out and then back to the 15-19 questions. Generally there's decently easy questions there for those that have the stamina to get through the entire section. Not exatly mind blowing advice, but I DO think it helps.

I took a prep test completely cold and scored a 161... then I did all the bibles and still got a 161... I studied for another month and was still at a 161. FINALLY after starting PowerScore's class I went up to a 164. And after another month one day I just figured it out- got the stamina right and took every question seriously instead of thinking "go faster go faster!" and I got a 176. I was scoring in the high 170's on PT for about a month before I took the actual LSAT... and i'm still waiting on my final score. While I don't think I got a 176 on the actual LSAT (didn't sleep the night before- nerves) I do think I did pretty well... hoping for at least a 173 today.

A 162 to high 170s is very possible. Just don't be surprised if your score doesn't change immediately. Mine didn't... and I was extremely frustrated. But in the end, I got it. And I think you will too.
