I think I may already know the answer to this, but couldn't hurt to ask. I sent in a complaint after the June test because the proctor called the 5 minute warning when there were 10 minutes left. My LSAT status is "temporarily on hold" while LSAC investigates what happened. It sounds like scores will be released within the next week. Is LSAC going to get back to me with my options before the scores are released? It would definitely give me an advantage if the investigation is still going on after scores are released because I'd be able to see the curve. Also, does anyone think there's a way after the investigation I can find out my score before deciding whether to cancel/keep my score? Could I convince an agent from LSAC over the phone to tell me my score? I was wronged so I don't see why I have to decide to keep/cancel my score after the investigation without being able to find out my score..I'm guessing LSAC policy says this is not allowed

btw for anyone who didnt know, if u send in a complaint LSAC does an investigation and then after it's complete they give you the option to cancel or keep your score. i don't think they tell u what the score is though

Where did you take the test at? I took it in Columbus, OH and the same thing happened - you may have been there too. Anyway, I thought that they put something with every file because the proctor reports the irregularity to LSAC. It doesn't really help me because it was my second time taking the test but unfortunately the section he did it on was real. What a dumbass, I mean how hard is it to look at a watch and say when 5 minutes are left?

No, the proctor said that an irregularity notice would be filed with LSAC. It doesn't sound like a big deal but I and everyone I talked to said that they had panic attacks when they heard the 5 minute warning and hurried the rest of the section. There really is nothing I can do because this was my second time taking the test and I can't study for it again. If this was your first time I think a retake could greatly benefit you - also try and find whether or not the section was an experimental.

It was my first time and I am definitely retaking it---I think I got a good score but I also am pretty sure that due to the proctor's mistake my score will be 3-4 points lower than what it would've been. I think my score WOULD'VE* been close to the scores that my practice tests were at before the test, but now it'll be 3-4 points lower.. Do you think this is a reason to cancel?

If it was your first time then even if you are a few points down from your practice scores the damage may not have been too much. You can always retake in September as long as know you can take studying again. However, if they let you cancel and it doesn't appear on your file because they screwed up then maybe it would be wise to take it again in September or whenever the next one is. At least now you have the experience of sitting for the real deal.

The adderall didn't help either...Probably cost me a couple points...Definitely not taking adderall for the next LSAT. Listening to my friend about adderall was a mistake!

Yeah, I know so many people that pop adderall and study all day. My sub-3.0 gpa, lazy attitude, and lack of direction could have used some of that shit, but I felt above it. Maybe I'm just an idiot though.

Trust me, it's a good thing you didn't. Taking adderall during the test just stressed me out, made me rush, and it actually hindered my focus!

I went through 10 logical reasoning questions today without having touched the LSAT since the test. 10 out of 10! I guess it's true that LSAT skills don't go away that easy. Looking forward to retaking the October test NOT on adderall and hopefully without any major proctor mistakes lol. Maybe I'll score near my practice tests this time...I can only hope

Since I'm canceling my first score, technically the score I'll be applying to law schools with will be one that I earned without adderall, on my own

This exact scenario occurred to me in December of last year. Scores were released on about the 28th of December, and my investigation wasn't complete until the 2nd week of January. At that point, they found the merits of my complaint to be correct and gave me 2 options:

1. Take the score
2. Cancel and get a free retake. The real stinger is that the cancel shows up on your report as a "candidate cancel". However, since it was my 3rd take, they did let me sit for a 4th. Also, you don't get to see your test to find out how you did.

Hmm what's the difference between a regular cancel and a candidate cancel?

That's interesting that your complaint was ongoing until after the scores were released. Doesn't that mean you had a chance to look at the curve as well as try and get a copy of a friend's score report to try and estimate how you did before deciding whether to keep or cancel?

Hopefully it doesn't take them too long to get back to me with a response. I want to register for the October LSAT before my local test center fills up but I want to wait to see if they'll offer me a free retest first
