Score or Curve?
Which will you check first...your score, or come on TLS and see the curve?
Please provide reasons, if you have any.

Re: Score or Curve?
My score, because I want to see my score as soon as it's available. Also, seeing the curve would just change my expectations, which would be pointless if I'm about to find out my score in 30 seconds.

Why would I want to see the Curve first?

I am guessing most of you guys that want the score first are not much for slow reveals and anticipation.

I know, these people don't have any self-restraint. Hmm. Or maybe they're just less neurotic.etown989 wrote:I am guessing most of you guys that want the score first are not much for slow reveals and anticipation.

Not necessarily. I check these forum boards more than I check my email, so odds are good that I will see the curve first.

Re: Score or Curve?
I'd rather know the curve -- yes, I'd be about to see my score whenever I wanted, but I want that 30 seconds of altered expectations. If the curve is something like -9/-10, I know I'm screwed, if we get another -14, then I'll be ecstatic before checking my score
Anyway, when you get the email from LSAC, does it ONLY have your score, or does it have your breakdown for each section and THEN your score?
If it only shows your score in the email, then is it possible to go to LSAC.org and get the breakdown?
Ideally, I'd like to see how I did on EACH individual section and THEN see my overall score. Is that possible?

Re: Score or Curve?
I'm definitely doing the thing mentioned in another thread where I open the e-mail and use Ctl F search and start searching. I think I'm gonna start with 160 and go up so as to create increasing optimism rather than despair.
So score first.

the email only has your score
you can find the breakdowns inside your lsac.org account

Re: Score or Curve?
What do you mean? They have the entire scaled score chart (180 to 120) included in the email, with the raw scores attached to the numbers? So you're going to see what your raw score is and then proceed upwards from 160?jdstl wrote:I'm definitely doing the thing mentioned in another thread where I open the e-mail and use Ctl F search and start searching. Not sure I understand -- sorry

Re: Score or Curve?
I will check the curve so as to see where I might have landed in terms of score. Then, I will go to my e-mail and start searching for scores from 157 all the way to 170. Hopefully the score lies closer to the 170.

ahhh man, i don't know if i could handle the drama of doing that. that's like 20 instances of mini heart attacks, each time the page refreshes, from 150 all the way up to 170.
i'd rather just look at the curve on TLS, then open the email and get the whole shabang over with

Re: Score or Curve?
Since I can check TLS at work but not external email (I work around SENSATIVE INFORMATION, haha) I will probably be compulsively checking to see if the scores were released (and what the curve is) and then run and check my email on my phone in the bathroom. Actually, if my willpower holds out, it might be better to wait until I get home in case of bad news.

Re: Score or Curve?
Scores get released in groups all day long. TLS reported scores at 5pm Eastern, and I didn't get mine til 11:30pm eastern.hobbsey wrote:Since I can check TLS at work but not external email (I work around SENSATIVE INFORMATION, haha) I will probably be compulsively checking to see if the scores were released (and what the curve is) and then run and check my email on my phone in the bathroom. My test they didn't release scores until 7 pm Mountain Standard Time. No one expected them to release them because it was so late.Desert Fox wrote:Scores get released in groups all day long. Most of your will know what the curve is before you see your score. The people who get their scores first will most likely post the curve here and there will be a million and one posts/threads arguing over if it is legit or not. Then all the score e-mails will start rolling out gradually.

does anyone know when NY, relative to others, gets their scores?
TIA

Re: Score or Curve?
Look guys, the scores will be updated on the LSAT section of your LSAC profile way before you get your email.
So while yes they are populated and emailed at different times, the whole email to phone scenerio is actually lagging behind. Last time I took it, I got my score on the LSAC way before my email.
Just saying...

What is "way before"? Two hours? Two days? I'm not going to sit on my LSAC page for three days hitting refresh just to see the page 30 minutes before I get an email...TOMaHULK wrote:Look guys, the scores will be updated on the LSAT section of your LSAC profile way before you get your email.
