I thought for sure after that statement that this was a troll, but now I'm not so sure.wizger wrote:you know that because you were alive then?Desert Fox wrote:TBF the first one didn't happen either.wizger wrote:
ridiculous statement. in regards to religion age is not a negative but rather an indication of truth. the debate is not whether or not jews still must keep jewish law but whether it was given to begin with.as far as i know there hasn't been a second mount sinai gathering in which G-d said 'you know what guys let's scrap the original plan and you can do whatever you want on sabath'. and until that happens i don't see how age is a reason to say it's not necessary to observe it anymore, and i don't see how the lack of observation by some, even most, has any baring on the relevance of the laws of sabath today.

it's estimated that there are over 600,000 orthodox jews in america (myself included). to utilize a cliche, you are sure to be in the company of quite a few of them when you begin working as an attorney...Desert Fox wrote:It's a real LSAT, it just won't be the same as the 2010 Oct LSAT everyone else takes. Can anyone tell me how, if at all, sabbath observers tests differ from the regular ones. Is it the same 4 scored sections? Why isn't the sabbath observers LSAT disclosed?
Do you really strictly observe it? Seems pretty extreme for 2010.

More a stereotype than a cliche I think, but I see where you were coming from now.hannah87 wrote:jews as lawyers?Tautology wrote:I have never heard of this cliche.hannah87 wrote: it's estimated that there are over 600,000 orthodox jews in america (myself included). to utilize a cliche, you are sure to be in the company of quite a few of them when you begin working as an attorney...

not primarily- i would have moved to charlottesville, but my husband got a job he couldn't turn down here in new york. it would have been super difficult to be observant at uva though, so i guess it worked out for the best.miamiman wrote:hannah, did the fact that you're ortho factor into your needing to be in nyc?hannah87 wrote:jews as lawyers?Tautology wrote:I have never heard of this cliche.hannah87 wrote: it's estimated that there are over 600,000 orthodox jews in america (myself included). to utilize a cliche, you are sure to be in the company of quite a few of them when you begin working as an attorney...
