As of this hour, I'd rather have 1 cancel, 1 absence, 1 low score than 2 cancellations. Does top 10 really judge your 2 cancellations?

Why not just take the damn test and get a score like you're supposed to? Roll the dice, see where the chips fall, and re-take if you need to.

In most cases when there is little or no difference between scores, multiple scores are averaged. In exceptional cases where it is apparent that a significant difference exists between scores, the Admission Committee will consider carefully the explanation provided by the applicant. If warranted, the highest score will be used to reach a decision on the file.

So they MIGHT not average it... but they still might?! "If warranted"... so what applies to be "warranted"?

Some schools say they average, but a quick glance at LSN or talking to people on TLS indicates they do not. I got into Cornell, WUSTL, Vanderbilt, BU, and UIUC with an average LSAT of 165.

Davis is probably trying to get out of scholarship dollars while still attempting to look like a good option? As I understand it the ABA only requires the highest score be used and so that is how USNAWR calculates the rankings. Because the LSAT is used primarily because it is the easiest way to game the USNARWR rankings, it shouldn't matter to the school what you scored on your lower scores.

Am I wrong about something? I could easily be wrong about something.

Well, Boalt says the same exact thing.

They all DO say for reporting purposes, the highest score is taken.

But for EVALUATION purposes, they might use the averaged score, even if there is a "large" gap between multiple scores.

Averaging feeds into the whole "we look at the whole student" crock of shit. HYS can afford to. Everyone else just looks at what makes them look best for USNews (which is the highest).

Roll the dice. Get a score. Move on. If you don't do as well as you think, then you can retake once more. You're dragging this out if you cancel again. Get the LSAT over with and move on.

I was around when USNWR changed the policy and everyone thought that schools that said they would average would average.....time has shown this not to be the case at all. Schools want to use everything they can to up their rank. The only schools I could see this MAYBE happening would be HYS.
