Dec 07 LG section, #13 and PT 9 LG section questions 14-18

Why is the answer to this question E? I ruled out all of the answers. I do not know if I diagrammed it wrong or still don't see one of the inferences, but I only missed that one question on that game. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, for PT 9, is there an easier way to go about handling this game (questions 14-18)? I had to draw 3 columns labeled 1, 2, and 3 and then 6 blanks for each column to show the boy and girl pairing up. This game seemed extremely time consuming. I hope they don't put a game like this on the June LSAT. Any help w/ this question would also be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

PT 9, Section 3 (LG), Game 3:

I had 3 columns, (1,2,3) and 3 rows (R,S,T) thus the girls were always the same across the row. Then I plugged the boys into the spaces:

R _ _ _
S _ _ _
T _ _ _
- 1 2 3

Using the rules it allowed me to see that there was a general pattern of:

R z x y
S y z x
T x y z
- 1 2 3

With the boys (K,L,M) each corresponding to one of x, y, or z.

For Z to be the second to confess, Z must be second. Since X and V both follow Z (fourth rule), Y must be first.

Yeah, I got Y in the first position as well. Wow, I got it now! The wording on this threw me off. When it said Z was second to confess, I just thought Z was second and confessed and it was saying nothing about position 1. Guess, they are said that position 1 confessed as well. Dammit! Gotta watch out for that wording. Thanks.

Thanks for the help on PT 9 problem. Yeah, looks like I diagrammed it terribly. Thanks again.
