MUST BE TRUE type of questions

Post by mz253 » Wed May 26, 2010 11:57 am

hey, i wonder if you can tell from the question stem that you are asked to draw an unstated conclusion or an assumption or just link several facts together?

also, if the question stem says "inference", does it ask me to draw an assumption? and I should treat it as an assumption question?

thanks!

Similar but no, inference is not really an assumption.

An assumption is something the stem takes for granted.
An inference is a conclusion you can logically draw from the stem that has to be true based on the facts in the stem.

treat an inference as a TRUTH, it is NOT an assumption.
