Hard to believe its already coming so close. This Saturday, wow

I got a 168 today on PT 54 after hitting 3 straight PTs of 170+ and getting my personal high of 175 yesterday at a proctored exam.

A lot of the problems I missed I immediately recognized what I did wrong during review, so hopefully it was just due to fatigue from working 50 hour weeks and continual PTing. I'm taking Friday off and will make sure to get some serious sleep Thursday and Friday night so hopefully that won't be a factor on Saturday.

Still a little discouraging. May PT on Tues/Wed now even though I usually am really tired after work

The correct answer uses the date 1492 which, according to my prep book, is not even mentioned in the stimulus.
What company?
It's the Blueprint Prep company and this is not the first time something like this has happened in these books. I am getting pretty frustrated with the humor they throw into the books combined with so many typos. Nothing is funny about this.
I don't mind the humor (when I started over and tried to review lessons it was a little annoying because I had already heard them before but eh...) I agree about the typos but I haven't found too many. Which book is this one in?

good job with your prep. You are going to do well on saturday. If I were in your shoes, since fatigue is allready impacting your score, I would forgo more prep tests this week, and do timed sections instead. I think its more important this close to victory day ( new name for saturday) to be fully rested, mentally and physically. Forget about this last prep test. Act like it never happened. just do some review, keep your confidence level high, and enjoy crushing the test on the 9th.

Best PT ever today! I got a 177 on #38, and had my first-ever perfect section. I am feeling pretty great going into this week. :D

Got a 169 on PT 24 yesterday and a 166 (bummer!) on PT 25 today. I'm going to move into PTs 55-60 over the next week, starting with 56 tonight.

I'm going to focus on getting used to the newest tests and try out some new strategy. I'm going to hit this week very very hard, taking a PT every day while doing heavy review and doing some drills. I think I respond better to heavy lifting than to taking breaks. We'll see.

I've been consistently finishing LR with at least 5 mins to go. I'm going to mark 2-3 sketchy questions on LR sections and see if I can gain back a point or so. I'm at the point where I score something like -4 -3 -6 -2 on pretty much every test, so I figure if I can snag one more point from maybe two sections that could make the difference I'm looking for.

I feel like I'm at the point where I have the theory pretty much down, I might only see 1-2 questions on a test that I legitimately am confused by. So basically where most people seem to be- eliminating stupid mistakes. I'll check back after PT 56.

Kaplan proctored today. 171. Thats 4/5 most recent clearing 170. Feelin' good.

The proctor started typing at one point... seriously?
Also, her beeper always went off 10 seconds early, unless my new temp watch's battery is already slippin'... but it was perfect yesterday. I'll check it tomorrow against a cell.

Atleast for the books that I have, the humor is reoccurring throughout all 4 books. I guess it might not be all that annoying, but just kind of inappropriate. Overall though the books have really helped me and the online explanations are pretty good too. If they can find a better editor and get some older writers I think they could improve their services since not everyone wants to be entertained with humor when studying for an important test, and hardly anyone likes typos.

Nice! It's not a bad time to peak. I hit a plateau about two weeks ago and it's kind of frustrating. I'm so going to have a beer after this is all over.

just did RC from 57. -5. Still got to the last passage (Fractals) with only 6 mins so I didnt really fix my timing goal by allowing myself to skip 4 questions (infact I didnt consciously skip any). -3 on Fractals, -1 on Sci/Hum, and -1 on Cather (second guessed myself and chose trap answer). Maybe start with passage 4 and then do 2 and 3 knowing 1 is cake?

people argued with him, but he just said that according to the bylaws the break is completely optional. Which is wrong. I would have reported this had I known it was not normal, but of course i didnt know and just took his word for it. Now im stuck with a horrible horrible score. Lesson of the story: read everything the LSAC sends you about rules and dont take any shit from proctors. You are allowed to tell the proctor to stop talking or typing during that mini break between sections, FYI

sometimes I'm not sure how much power these proctors have. I called LSAC for permission to wear a medical wrist splint from my doctor and they said it was up to the proctor that day whether I'm allowed to wear it or not, which I don't understand how it's fair at all. They make it sound like they give proctors some inordinate amount of power.

Just finished PT 58. got a 164, so pretty bummed about that.

LR -6
RC -6
LG -6

I keep making stupid mistakes in LG and RC and its killing my scores. This was the first of the most recent (50's) PTs I've taken though.

Got my highest PT yet today...166 on 53. God I suck at games, no matter what I do. -3 on LR, -3 RC and - 9 LG. Damn it.

Anyone else close to throwing in the towel? I thought I was a special snowflake and that one month of prep would be fine (even though everyone recommends 3) Two weeks ago I was doing well (165, 164, 168, 165 were my scores for like the week of Sep. 20th) so I didn't want to postpone. But then started doing the PT's in the 50;s and have just been getting absolutely destroyed by the RC section. I've been stuck in the low 160's ever since. Well I actually took pt 44 on Friday and got a 167 but followed that up with pt 56 yesterday for a fabulous 160. Just really bums me out to have progressed pretty fast the first two weeks just to get knocked back down without the option of postponing. What is up with the pt's in the 50's?

Sorry for venting.

Anyone else feel like they need more time and trying to figure out what to do about it? I'm definitely going to go I'm just not sure if I should cancel after taking the test.

That happened to me as well, (but not with RC, LR). I had been missing like -3, -2 on LR on the older tests (but doing worse on games than I did on newer ones) and when I switched to the newer ones, I was getting crushed on LR. I was regularly down to 161, and even scored a 159 on PT 59. I took three days off except some old games last night and then got a 166 on 53 today. The break helped me see much more clearly. Before it felt like I was looking at LR through a cloudy lens and today it felt much more clear. Maybe a break will help you too because it seems we faced the same type of problems.

hey thanks that definitely gives me some hope. I am going to do the RC sections from the tests in the 50's tomorrow and hopefully figure them out. I think taking a PT break could be helpful.

Just did LG from PT 56.
Score: -1

I think the way I'm going to shave time off my LGs in the 50s (and 60s) is using the approach of creating a couple of hypos from the beginning so I can see some not rules etc
this helps me on "could be true" "what is the earliest J can see the doctor" type questions
and I literally finished this section in 35.00 minutes. I missed one because I moved on before fully checking that answer but I'm glad I did because if I hadn't, I would have likely not had time for 2 qs later on.

I can do games the old fashioned way (make templates or hypos as you go along) but not in 35 minutes (games like PT 59,56, 60).

Would love a -0 but it was great to finish in time after running out on PT 59 and 60.

RC from PT 56 tomorrow.

Potential Spoiler #59?
Interested for RC #59 tomorrow. Apparently there's a wicked Noguchi passage. Bring it.

My work scheduled me for an 8 1/2 hour day the Monday after the LSAT (Thanksgiving here in Canada). FML, I moved a test from tomorrow to the Tuesday after the LSAT so I could have Sunday/Monday to study. Guess I'm down to just Sunday. Assholes. They're not supposed to schedule me for anything besides 5.30-9.30 on Mondays because that's my availability on Mondays. Apparently they think that changes on a holiday. No.

Also planning to take 59 tomorrow morning. If I don't get above at least a 173 considering my struggles on the new tests I might scream.

I felt the RC on 59 was fairly difficult. I missed 3 in the section; 1 in each passage EXCEPT the Noguchi passage, which I aced. So... draw your own conclusions. I don't know. I'll be interested to hear how it goes for you, eit.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how everyone does on this test. I think I'm going to do very well, but I think there are some people here who are going to do even better.

Especially yzero1. That guy is not human!

I will be really happy when I can stop thinking in LSAT speak. In my head I just went, what would justify A's conclusion? No one who scores 180 three times in a row on a prep test (I think that was yzero1) can be human.

Yeah, RC is just... we need to be friends again. I know it's possible. Even if they started writing really horrid trap answer choices that lure me in half the time.

I'm so worried about freezing up or running out of time on the test. That is, I'm trying not to be worried about it but I am worried about it. I'm trying for this zen like calm, but it's difficult, haha. There's just not a lot of room for a few minutes of choking.

I think the 3 week interval between testing and getting the score is going to be BRUTAL. Everyone in my real life who is looking forward to me shutting up about the LSAT is just going to have to deal with another 3 weeks of me discussing it and wondering what my mark is.

Took PT58 today - 171. I'm feeling really good. Something has happened with LR where I'm finally down below minus 5 per section. I bought the cambridge formal logic set a couple weeks ago and worked through that. Since then my wrong answers have been mostly stupid errors on my part where as I circled the answer I said to myself, "This is not correct, but I gotta move on." Then when I went back to review my wrong answers I'd look at the question, skim the answers and know the right answer.

I'm concerned that RC is going to burn me hard, but I've decided that RC is extremely susceptible to answer elimination. Single words are sometimes the difference between a right answer and a wrong answer and my mantra for most RC questions is "If the text doesn't say it, then it isn't a correct answer." This isn't wholly applicable, and it seems obvious, but I feel like with the RC stimuli I was giving the answers more breadth to generalize than I should due to the size of the text they come from. In reality, you have to follow the text as closely as you do with LR.

Overall, I'm looking forward to Saturday. Once this is over I'm going to spend the day with friends and beer.
