Fellow 163er! you feel my painnn haha. I would actually be happy with a 164-165 (yea yea UGA!) but my PT I took this morning shows I'm essentially starting with way lower than my 163. :(
does that mean you are too? we should be study buds. :)
haha, it means i'm bad at computers! but we should be!
I have 232193892 fam members that go to Emory! haha. My dad went to GT and my mom GA southern, though. are you PTing around your 163 now? (PM me response if you prefer)

Took the 5 PTs below, timed, 4 sections this week. (Monday - Friday, 1 PT per day, 01:30 PM start, since LSAT will start @ 2 pm in my country)

PT 23

1 - LG = 0
2 - LR = -2 (Assumption, Resolve Paradox)
3 - LR = -4 (Must be True, Parallel Reasoning, Parallel Reasoning, Principle)
4 - RC = -3

Raw: 91 (1st question of 3rd section was cancelled)
Scaled: 176
Curve: -16

PT 24

1 - RC = -2
2 - LR = -4 (Method of Reasoning, Parallel Reasoning, WeakenX, Justify Conclusion)
3 - LR = -5 (Justify Conclusion, Assumption, WeakenX, Principle, Principle)
4 - LG = 0

Raw: 90
Scaled: 172
Curve: -14

PT 25

1 - RC = 0 (!!! Non-native speaker, my first -0 @ RC, so happy)
2 - LR = -5 (Assumption, Must be True, Principle, Parallel Reasoning, Principle)
3 - LG = -2
4 - LR = -4 (Flaw in the reasoning, Point at issue, Weaken, Assumption)

Raw: 90
Score: 171
Curve: -12

PT 26

1 - LG = -2 (1 wrong, 1 end of time)
2 - LR = -1
3 - LR = -2 (1 wrong, 1 end of time)
4 - RC = -2

Raw: 94
Scaled: 176
Curve: -14

PT 27

1 - LR = -1 (Parallel Reasoning)
2 - LG = -4 (Got 3 wrong in a really retarded way in that snakes game, read it was hard so kinda lost my focus when I actually got to it RRRR)
3 - RC = -2
4 - LR = -2 (Principle, Weaken)

Raw: 92
Scaled: 176
Curve: -16

TO DO: I will read the chapters for Parallel Reasoning, Principle and Weaken questions from LRB again tomorrow morning.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Keep working. You're doing great so far. Dont worry about the fluctuations in your scores. The scales are different in the older tests. The important thing is that youre testing at 170+. You'll be fine.

Good luck!

Thanks guys, I have all the PTs up to 59 in hand, will keep taking them 1 a day or so, with some review of Bibles in between. Hoping for a 175+.

Well, I've now scored a 165 for three tests in a row! I was doing alright on PT22 until the last LR section which was a -11. That's the most I've missed so far in LR, and I'm not totally sure what happened? I did improve in RC with a -2. -1 in LG. I was really hoping for at least a one point improvement. Sad day.

PT 37 and SPA: both 169.

Not bad for strictly timed with hardly any review since June 6th. My timing was stellar on LR for these tests. I finished both LR in SPA with 5 minutes and 7 minutes remaining. LG was a bit longer than I'd like, but both tests I was finished in under 32 minutes. RC was (and still is) a crap shoot, although it's much more consistent. I'm missing -4 or -5 per section, which is OK.

I figure the curves on both of these tests were just OK, nothing like recent tests (59, 60). I don't think it will be tough getting back to -2 or less per LR since I'm already very close. If only I could get RC down...

The worst part for me seems to be the fact that if I improve on a section, I regress on another section! Or well, not regress really, but if I do really well on something I've been struggling with (like my last test with LR), then I have issues with RC which has generally been going really well for me. I also feel like there's very little consistency with what's going on in my tests, and that's kind of frustrating.

On the other hand, I kind of enjoy preparing for it. It's like Latin for me - I don't love studying either, exactly but I really don't try to avoid it and I kind of have a weird scholarly fun in doing it.

So I ordered the LRB on a whim the other day and just got it.
I have been studying for a few months and am PTing pretty much where I want to be, but figured it can't hurt. Has this book been helpful to you guys? Should I just skip to the chapters on the types that give me the most trouble? Any sections particularly helpful to anybody?
Trying to figure out if I should plow through this thing or just use it sparingly.

Let's turn this into a formal logic setup:

If Hannibal has an ear infection then he will score a 180 within a few days.

If Hannibal does not score a 180 then he did not have an ear infection in the preceding days.

Therefore, Hannibal should get an ear infection between October 5 and October 7 if he wants to get a 180.

JEALOUS. Congrats!

I secretly just want to score 179 so that I can have the same score as Elle Woods.

yesterday i forced myself through a timed six sexxxion pt session: reading comp from pt 12, superprep a, logical reasoning section from pt 12.

pt12RC: -3
spALR1: -6
spARC: -7
spALG:-10
spALR2: -3
pt12LR: -2

i reviewed every little nuance that threw me off. i didn't even get to one of the games, how sad. what a sad little man i am.

:| sigh.

Superprep A isn't easy, the LGs are pretty hard, it accounted for my second worst score on LG.

yeah but i wish RC and LR would stabilize already so i could focus on my LG work without worrying constantly about those fluctuations.

whatever, i just cracked a redbull and i don't plan on fucking the next one up.

I couldn't agree more! And, yes if I do get better in one section I just regress in another! By the way, love Blair...

Almost done with Kaplan Mastery. I have Parallell Reasoning, Point at Issue, and Principle questions left to do. The last two are short chapters though. I'm excited to take my first PT. I've been doing better on LR and I cant wait to see how I fare on an actual PT. My plan is to take SuperPrep A on the 25th. I'll go from there. Cant wait!

I guess that could be explained by certain sections being harder than others in each test. But I would like it if all my skills could work together instead of trading off. It doesn't even seem to have anything to do with the order of the sections. And I keep doing really well on sections people discuss as difficult, and yet getting like -5 on games people think are easy. Argh.

And I love Blair so much, lol. I'm actually disappointed I can't wear a headband to the test (don't want to chance a headache).

Today I re-did some games from 10 Actual. I had an RC fail on the instructions for one game (read at least twice as many as must be twice as many). However, one game that I remember as being difficult the first time around, I spotted an inference right away and the questions were so easy, yay.

I'm off to test my skills with a newer test! If I go down drastically, I may cry.

Ugh, just finished my fifth PT with timing/bubblesheets and it didn't go well ... Timing issues on two sections when that's normally not an issue.

I did add a fifth section for the first time and didn't notice much of a difference, so I guess that's a good sign.

How does everyone review RC? I feel confident with LR and LG with a few -0 sections and generally consistently improving scores in both, but RC hasn't been cooperative so far. I don't think I'm reviewing it well after each PT, which I'm sure doesn't help.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
