PT 24 Section 4 Questions 11-17 --INFERENCES (LG)

Post by deputamadre » Mon Mar 08, 2010 6:46 pm

I had a hard time making inferences on this game. Heres my setup:

J _ _ _ X _ _
R _ _ _ _ _ _
1 2 3 4 5 6

After slowly getting through the questions, I made these inferences:

J _ _ _ X _ Y/Z
R _ _ _ _ Y/Z _
1 2 3 4 5 6

...and I knew that 3 had to be an advanced textbook (question 14).

I would have never finished this game in 8min 45 seconds. Is the graph right? How did you guys make your inferences? At what point?

From the beginning, I knew that Rosenburg had to evaluate X either 1, 2 or 3. But thats it. I knew nothing more until I got to the questions, and by the time I figured out some more inferences (graph 2), I would have run out of time.

Thanks beforehand and enjoy spring break (if you're on it)

As for the key inferences:

1) R evaluates "i" during the last week since Ra-Ja/Ji-Ri rules (the oposite goes for the week 1)
2) J evaluates "a" during the last week since Ra-Ja/Ji-Ri rules (the oposite goes for the week 1)
3) if R evaluates "i" on a week 6 then week 2 and week 4 are also "i" since no consequtive (NB this does not apply to J)
4) Remember Ra-Ja/Ji-Ri rules, in other words:

JF > RF
JG > RG
JH > RH

and

RX > JX
RY > JY
RZ > JZ

I think this is it. Let me know if you still have trouble with some questions.
