What now? Big score increase

I went up to a 173 with a 3.65 gpa.
I have been accepted to several <50 rank schools (one for free).
I applied to one in the T20, (waiting) and two in T30.

Should I wait another cycle? (I am quite old)

Some schools are still accepting applications. Check through the T20 websites and see if you can squeeze a few in between today and tomorrow.

That's a good idea. Man do I dislike filling out applications.

Apply early decision to UVA, right now. They accept applications through 3/1 (and have extended their ED deadline until that date), and you stand a great chance with a 173/3.65. Congratulations!

Alternatively, withdraw your current applications and wait until next cycle. A 173/3.65 gives you a shot at CCN and should get you in at UVA, Michigan and Penn easily if you apply early. Basically, the reason to wait would be that shot at CCN; if you're fine with UVA, just ED right now.

Edit: Looking at the numbers, CCN are not as much of a reach as I initially suggested. If you apply to Columbia in September (ED or not, but it's enough of an uncertainty that I would ED), you should get admitted. Same for NYU and Chicago.

since you are "quite old" are you currently working? It may be easier to just delay your law school plans for one year (in the grand scheme of things not a lot of time at all) apply early and go to a T14, ED your dream school (Columbia? NYU? Chicago?)

that is what i would do.

if you like the University of Virginia, as an above poster said, apply there now!

congrats on the new score! good luck.

I agree with this advice. Congratulations, OP!

Not working, mid 30's, don't want to lose momentum.
Columbia would be nice though.

If you're not working, I would go with UVA right now. A substantial gap in employment doesn't look great and might reduce your chances at CCN. People do get WLed or rejected at CCN with equivalent numbers, although a lot get admitted, too. UVA is a great school and gives you awesome opportunities itself. I would say don't rush to a decision, but you only have two days to decide on UVA, so you sort of have to rush. Good luck!

First GRATZ!

Second, one year is not that big of a deal in the long run if it substantially increases your chances of getting a great job. I would follow the advice of the other posters and try to get apps in to schools that will accept them. Many schools will accept apps after their deadlines too- you will just be a late app. You don't have to decide whether or not to wait a year until this cycle is officially over.

Also, most people hate apps too, but we all had to do it :)

You can still turn in an app to Georgetown.

This also seems like solid advice i forgot to mention. So i'll echo the sentiment. I think its important that you play out the remainder of this cycle as best as you can, considering the investment of time/money you've already made and the possibilities you are unsure of. The ED program at Virginia would prevent you from doing this, but if you decide against that, apply to schools that still accept files (Georgetown) or those whose deadline has passed and see what happens.

Throw an ED app at UVA, but I dont believe ED means you have to go if u dont go to ANY law school that year?...if it does I wouldn't do it.

I would WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!.....esp ITE. As soon as the apps come out for next year apply ED to Columbia and then also apply to rest of the T14 and maybe some T25 schools, if you are looking for a full ride.

Congrats and good luck

If you go for applying to other place, perhaps you could defer your acceptance for a year while applying elsewhere. Though, as I write that, I'm guessing that your deferral includes a promise not to apply elsewhere -- you'd have to look into that.
