The weekend before the LSAT, I went away and forgot to bring back my watch. At the time, I was frustrated, but I headed to Marshalls to find a watch for the LSAT.

I ended up using this watch: --LinkRemoved--

For me, it ended up being perfect since the dial is large and easy to reset very quickly. Also, the face is large so you can see it clearly if you put it on your desk.

Also, the tip I learned here of setting it to 11:25 for each section was perfect--thanks.

(Needless to say, I'm returning the watch tomorrow, but it served its purpose well)

I firmly believe watches are a mistake.

They will give you a 5 minute warning, which is sufficient to ensure you don't leave any questions blank. Every second you spend looking at or thinking about the watch is a second you aren't focused on the test. Seriously, it is a distraction. Just work as quickly and efficiently as you can.

You should keep the watch as a momento/good luck charm if you scored well on the test!

For me (and I assume others) the watch is crucial for RC and LG. Knowing that you have 8:45 per passage/game, you know each step of the way as you move to the next passage/game how you're doing, whether you need to speed up or can take your time, etc.

It seems like time wasn't an issue for you. For others, the lack of a watch could prove disastrous.

I disagree... for me, even though I rarely looked at it, having a watch was helpful with pacing. I usually finish LR with about 10 minutes remaining, and being able to check in with the time helped me make sure I was going by my usual pace. Also, I'd spend too much time worrying about going too fast/slow if I didn't know I could check the watch.

I think using a watch would only hinder you if you looked at it compulsively. I myself have developed natural points in the test where I check my watch. I typically check it every two page spread and after the first ten questions on LR (1 minute one question for the first ten), after each passage in RC, and after each game in LG. Plus, if you think you are wasting too much time on a question, just check the watch.

You may not need it, but I would be lost without a watch.
