Law school for Fall 2010 - Feb 6 2010/June 7 2010 LSAT?

Post by rrsiddhi11 » Thu Feb 04, 2010 1:50 pm

End Goal:
I would like to get admitted into law school for Fall 2010

LSAT -- Feb 6 2010 and June 2010 to improve scores and go for average or
cancel score if i feel i did not do well and retake in June 2010.

LSAT Registered for Feb 6 2010, but I am not very well prepared.
May be i will get a score of 150-155 or so if i take the test on this Saturday Feb 6 2010.

I am in dilemma, should i take the test on Feb 6 2010 and also try again in June 2010 to improve score to 160-165 and apply in the meanwhile so that atleast i have some LSAT score on file.

Or should i take Feb 6 2010 test , cancel score if i feel i did not do well and AIM for better in June 2010 and just keep one GOOD SCORE.

If you don't keep your February score, then I see no chance of starting law school in Fall 2010 like you want to. However, it is possible to apply with your February score and if you're wait listed, the June score could push you over the top, especially if you think you can increase your raw score 20 points like that.

This option looks interesting but one clarification, if the Feb LSAT score is say 152 for Feb 2010.

And the June 2010 is around 165.

Can i apply to schools explaining that Feb 2010 Score may be low, and will prepare hard and take the June 2010 again and ask them to average out the score at 160 and keep the decision pending until the release of June 2010 Scores, that will keep me on target.

I did not apply to any law school till date since i was postponing until i see the Feb 2010 LSAT score and then start applying.

I am not sure if i will be too late for sending out applications if i wait to see my Feb 2010 LSAT scores.

I'm not really sure if you technically could do what you're suggesting, but I think it makes a whole lot more sense just to take it in June when you're ready and apply for the Fall of 2011. There are literally thousands of wonderful things to do in life that will be a whole lot harder after law school. Depending on finances, pick something you've always wanted to do and go do it. At the very least, get an interesting job. Enjoy the year, and then apply in September 2010 for September 2011

You wouldn't have a reportable score until March. I don't think that is enough time for Fall 2010. Good news is now you have a whole year to work on the LSAT and your applications.

Only schools with rollin admissions or deadlines of March 1 or later accept Feb LSATs.

No law schools that I know of accept June scores for admission into the same year, though I may be wrong.

Did your friend apply to law schools prior to the JUNE scores being declared?
